On the 30th of April Lebanese singer Haifa Wehbe and Fadel Shaker arrive in Bahrain to perform a highly anticipated concert. There is a lot of hype about the concert back here in Bahrain but there is also a lot of controversy. The manager of the company that organized the event mentioned that he was proud to be able to bring some of the most famous artists to this small island whilst respecting the traditions and culture. But not everyone is feeling the pride! A lot of the Muslim leaders in Bahrain are unhappy with the fact that this symbol of ‘seductive singing’ is coming to a supposedly Islamic country. There is even talk that some of Haifa’s most provocative songs like the infamous ‘Wawa’ she will not be allowed to sing so as to not offend anyone.
To be honest all of this is very strange, they are allowing an artist that has been banned from several countries to come perform here even though her fan base is not huge yet they are censoring what she can and cannot sing. It’s pointless really! Either you let her come and take the risk of upsetting people, or you ban her as well! I do not even think the turn out will be spectacular because the cheapest ticket is 55 BHD (equivalent of $147)! I guess we have to wait and see if Haifa will ‘tone it down’ for Bahraini audiences.

Haifa has never been banned from any countries.. maybe Saudi Arabia.. it seems like you are against Haifa.. She had a concert in Syria but was later banned because of the picture of her and Samir Gaegae. She has some of the biggest crowds and fans in the Arab world, her concerts are always successful.

Controversy follows Haifa, precedes her, surrounds her. She is THE Arab superstar, and we love it when she upsets the woolies who secretly adore her.
Nancy caused a riot when she performed there a few years back lets see what trouble the "talented" Haifa causes.

btw she won the case against rola and her people that made the fake sex tape of Haifa.. they are going to be in prison between 3-12 months! HAHAH
