I was sure that either Brooke White or Jason Castro was going to be the next booted out of American Idol this time! I was wrong …
The contestants in the danger zone this time were only two; Syesha Mercado and Carly Smithson.
Those got the least votes for their sad performances of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s famous Broadway songs on Tuesday. Although, both Brooke and Jason did really bad on Tuesday night and deserve to at least be in the danger zone!
But the unlucky lass to leave, despite a few kind words from Simon the night before, was Carly Smithson.
Carly took her luck with high spirits and said she was very proud of herself and happy: “I'm not upset that I'm going home. I had the best time here.”
With Carly out, there are only 5 contestants left. Next week, they’ll be performing songs be Neil Diamond. Will they do better next time?

I can't believe that Carly was voted off but it only proves that it's down to a popularity contest now. Both Carly and Syesha were fantastic on Tuesday night and every night, my favorites by far . Brooke, as sweet as she is, does not have the power that either of those two have....and Jason, what can I say, the girls love him and he is entertaining but is definitely not idol material - he'd be great in a coffee house. The two Davids are great too. Carly needn't worry though, with her talent and witty personality she'll go far. All the best Carly, we'll be waiting to hear from you again. You have lots of fans from Nova Scotia, Canada!
