Birds are beautiful creatures and part of their beauty is in their feather-covered body. But what happens if a bird looses its feathers? Does it become ugly?
Well, I don't think so! I came across a video of a bird named Oscar, and she's got no feathers on her body, only a few on her head ... but she's beautiful in her own unique way.
Oscar is a Cockatoo who suffers from a rare virus that causes her to pull out her feathers whenever they start growing because they irritate her.
She's been living with this virus for 12 years now and only recently have the Human Society workers discovered that she's a female! It's too late to change her name!
Check out this video of Oscar here.

thanks waleg for sharing this with us.
How can you tell if a bird is a female or male?? i have 2 birds (love birds) and when i bought them, they told me that one of them is a male and the other is female.
Is there an age for maturity??
and about this bird, may be it will find peace when peace when it dies, 12 years of suffering is a long time!
Dear Mo3taz,
The workers did a blood test on Oscar and that's how they found out she was a female! So, maybe a blood test would tell you which of your birds is male and which is female.
As for Oscar, it seems she's going to die because of this virus eventually. it will effect her nails and her beak soon!
What kind off people name their female bird Oscar???
