The Top 9 performed their versions of the legendary Dolly Parton songs.
Each contestant puts his/her own stamp on the songs and it's all done with supervision of the lady herself, Dolly Parton!
The first to sing was Brooke White, she played the guitar as she sang Jolene.
Brooke sang well, and the song suited her voice, but she didn't give anything new!
Her performance was too simple and lacked in emotion.
The second to sing was David Cook, who chose to do Little Sparrow.
His arrangement of the song gave it a new spirit yet kept it's Dolly soul.
The judges praised David and Simon gave him a big 'Congratulations'!
The third to sing was Ramiele Malubay and she did Do I Ever Cross Your Mind.
Her performance was bland and as Simon said, totally forgettable!

The fourth to sing was Jason Castro and he did Travelin' Through.
I thought he started off on the wrong foot, but then picked things up and did quite well.
The fifth to sing was Carly Smithson and she did Here You Come Again.
She reflected her own character on the song and gave it a ballad twist!
The sixth to sing was David Archuleta and he did Smokey Mountain Memories.
I like this song a lot and i think David did good, but could have done something better with it.
The seventh to sing was Kristy Lee Cook and she did The Coat of Many Colors.
Country music suits Kristy's voice, and she did well with the song ... but again, i think she could have dine much better.
The eighth to sing was Syesha Mercado and she did I Will Always Love You.
Syesha kinda' mixed Dolly's style and Whitney's style in her performance.
She is brave enough to do that and gives something totally new to the song.
The judges liked her performance, but Simon said: 'the second part paled in comparison to Whitney, don’t know if it helped you'.
The last to perform was Michael Johns and he did It’s All Wrong, But It’s All Right.
I also love this song ... Michael was spot on!
All the judges thought he rocked and i also think his was the best performance of the night!
