Dubai likes to have the tallest, biggest and strangest of everything and they seem to be spreading this prospect to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The ever famous Prince Waleed Bin Talal has asked for bidders to build the ‘Mile High Tower’ in Jeddah. We have heard of the Mile High Club –and I will not go into details about that- but what is the ‘Mile High Tower’?! Well basically it is an architectural wonder that is 1,600 meters high and that will officially be crowned the highest building in the world. And the cost for this beautiful building? $10 billion!

In a similar attempt to break records Dubai’s Emaar Properties will be building ‘Burj Dubai’ which they also claim will be the tallest building in the world. Two Middle Eastern countries trying to show their gusto by building big things! It appears that nowadays to become a superpower nuclear weaponry and military superiority is no longer needed, all you need is a very large building!
