For decades man has been trying to find extra terrestrial beings to prove to ourselves that we are not alone! So far we have mostly failed to do so and so instead have resorted to creating science fiction movies about what would happen if we did! However, it is amazing what two amateur astronomers from New Zealand came across with their petty telescope. They discovered a solar system that bears an interesting resemblance to ours and is 5,000 light years away!

The two solar systems have many similarities including the presence of a red star in the other solar system which is about half the size of our glorious sun. You will no doubt be aware that when it comes to scientists saying two things are the same they do not mean that they are duplicates but instead that there aren’t as many difference as there should be. There are significant difference between our solar system and the newly discovered one but this revelation brings us one step closer to finding those slimy green things.
