Being a celebrity has many perks, everyone knows your name: you get paid for doing what you love and more. However, like everything in the world it has some undeniable drawbacks that can sometimes be fatal. Egyptian actress Wafaa Amer is the biggest witness of this after she received a death threat from an unknown man over the phone. The man asked Wafaa for a large sum of money in return for letting her live, and that if she refused to pay then she and her family would suffer the consequences.

Wafaa, ignoring advice from family and friends, refused to report this to the police until she was sure that this wasn’t some prank. Although she refuses to hire a bodyguard she says that she is making sure that she is not vulnerable to attack by staying in during the later hours of the day. Obviously this may be a man desperate for money who will say anything to get it or it might just be some sicko who thinks it’s funny! I really do hope that this goes no further than the phone call!
