I really do not get it! Do some people like to be disgustingly outrageous and out of line just to get attention? Or are they just plain thick?! What I am referring to is the reprinting of the Danish cartoons of Prophet Muhammed (pbuh) with a bomb in his turban. This idiotic act came as a reaction to a murder plot against 73 year old Kurt Westergaard the cartoonist who drew these atrocious images. After the plot was foiled more than 17 newspapers reprinted the image as a stance against ‘self-censorship’. You may remember that last time these images were printed a huge ban on Danish produce was initiated and their economy suffered greatly. It’s like those people are trying to rub salt in an already infected wound.
Obviously the same old excuse about freedom of the press was used but the question is why doesn’t the press publish the truths of the holocaust? Or the truths of the massacres in Palestine or Iraq? Why is it that they insist on targeting the Prophet (pbuh). How the Islamic world will react is still to be seen but I won’t be surprised if outright fury took over the streets of the Arab world. However, when a museum in Denmark decided to preserve the cartoons in their establishment he said it ‘was time to move on’ and no demonstrations took place.

they won't stop !!! they attack the best person ever (pbuh) and what ever they say...he is always the best ! but we can't blame them we have to blame ourselves.if they respect us they won't hurt ., insult ,invade..etc us! and no religion allows any one to insult a prophet...
...and this freedom they speak about is the BIGGEST LIE...funny they can't give a word about holocust....or reveal the unhuman crimes committed to arabs in palestine , iraq..etc!
if they want attention, don't give it to them cuz all it does is motivate them to piss us off even more. so what if they insulted the prophet (PBUH) ? in his days people said horrible, horrible things straight to his face. he not only ignored their insults, but never stopped spreading his message and being good and peaceful to everyone around him. this is how us muslims should react but instead we're ignoring palestine and iraq in order to focus on these stupid, meaningless cartoons? this is ridiculous. we need to work together to do the right thing because no matter what they say, it doesn't change the kind of person the prophet was.
well i dont blame them, because these westerns have reached a stage wher they know that what ever they do towards muslims or islam, there will be no response back, so they will carry on.....
But its not their fault its our fault for standing back and watching them do these kind of things, that man wishes that im not in denmark, because wallah i would have shot him myself, because my soul and body is for the prophet Muhammad PBUH, any thing to protecte his memory....
La2 fal7a ya Mayamaya :S... As this is exactly the response they expect to get... They will further reiterate their stance that Islam is a religion of violence . I doubt any prophet requires you to kill yourself or another person in order to protect or defend their memory. You cannot deny that some muslims themselves have caused a lot of damage their own religion, why don't you rise and protest loudly against such people? A lot of the protests that happened back then when the furore first started were more damaging to muslims than the cartoons themselves.
Unfortunately we cannot deny that a lot of the spotlight is placed on muslims and Islam only to highlight the flaws, with a lot of misconceptions being fed to naive people that believe anything they read or hear. They need any foolish act to exaggerate it and focus on the follies.
Well it's their right to do so...it's their country anyways. You can't impose yourself by force. Besides, I don't think wanting to kill them is a better reaction. Hate only leads to hate. When non-muslims' religions are insulted they have to shut it and when it's the other way around, it's an outrage? How about we all stop insulting each other and stop propagating hate as a way to deal with things we don't like!!! Also, I doubt very much that in Islam, killing and revenge is promoted!!!
Muslims contributes in the adversting of these cartoons and make this iggnorant cartounist popular all over the world more than any efforts or anything than can be done! otherwise, these cartoons will be forgetten by now and they cartounist will never had the chance to get any worldwide recognition!! Muslims made him a celebrity and he is enjoying it!!!
I agree with S.M.S, start protesting against those giving Islam the worst images around you starting from your own families ... dirty scary looks, destroying countries in the name of Islam, why don't protest against alkaida and Osama ... are you happy with whats happening in the Arab world because of him, everyone of us in every single arab country is affected of what alikda is doing, our life as Arabs became difficult in the U.S and Europe... etc etc .... so instead of focusing on such a stupid cartoon, start working on stopping this Osama ben laden and its followers, if you see someone taking such a path, talk to him and try to convience that killing is wrong, that destroying your own country building and killing your people is not the way to heaven, its the way to HELL!!

I completely agree with Cupcake and disagree with mayamaya. Do you REALLY think the Prophet would condone you shooting the cartoonist? Think about it. Faith cannot be taken from you if you really have it. Don't be so sensitive to what others think or say. It is what is between you and God that matters. Your answer to people who doubt your religion is to live a good life and help others. Show them what your religion teaches, and not the opposite by using violence. Also, Karim...the holocaust DID happen. Don't deny things that are true just because you are frustrated.

Saw a picture of some protestors in Denmark burning the Danish flag. Doh! Short history lesson... The American flag was burnt by anti-American protestors, in the 60's and 70's, to cause maximum offense because the American flag has enormous symbolic importance to Americans. Burning the American flag causes offense to the Americans similar to depicting Allah with a bomb on his head. Denmark is not a Republican Democracy, it is a constitutional monarchy, the symbol of the people and their hopes and beleifs is not so much entangled with the nation’s flag. Burning a Danish flag in imitation of the burning the American flag is just stupid because it does not cause one percent the offense, Danish people are annoyed but little more than that. If, on the other hand, a group of Muslim extremists in America, or any group of individuals, burnt an American flag, in public in America, half that state’s police force would descend on them, the same would not happen in Denmark. It is a bit like publishing an article in a British newspaper calling for the overthrow of the monarchy. The newspaper would be shut down the next day whereas if a newspaper in America called for the overthrow of the President to be replaced by a different democratic institution, perhaps an e-democracy, that newspaper would cause offense but would not be shut down. Seeing Muslims in Denmark burning the Danish flag made me laugh out loud, they just don’t get it! Your ancestors burnt the American flag for a very good reason; they wanted to hurt the very core and sacred centre of America’s beliefs. For the Americans, the flag is an all important symbol of the people and their unity together a much more potent symbol than even the president is. American children are forced to elaborately swear allegiance to the flag, every morning, at school, to prove their faith in the nation. Similar to the way Children in some western Christian countries are forced to pray to God at morning assembly before starting school.
Star Spangled Banner: First of all, it is not illegal to burn an American flag in the U.S. Second, what western Christian country forces their children to pray in morning assembly before starting school? If it is a private Christian school, then children will pray, of course - their parents expect it.i in the same way a child who goes to a Muslim private school prays at school. Church and state are separate in the U.S. BTW, even in Saudi Arabia, children sing the national anthem before school as a show of loyalty to their country. The point is, Muslims need to worry more about poverty, education, human rights, and violence in their countries and not what some ignorant Danish cartoonist does in his own country.
