There is an ongoing debate about whether technological developments are a help or hindrance for mankind and this latest invention in the world of aviation tips the scale for me. It is a new 143-meter-long jet that allegedly can travel from the Middle East to the West coast of the United States in a mere four hours! That is more than 50% less time spent cramped in a plane seat, getting fed cardboard food. The jet that has been given the temporary name of ‘Lapcat’ will be taken for a test drive on the 5th of March and we will then know if it can do what it claims it can. And just for the record, as a hypersonic aircraft it can go at 6400 kilometers per hour!

The good news is the plane will be able to carry around 300 people and the price of the ticket will be equivalent to that of a business class ticket on a ‘regular’ plane.
The bad news? Well, if all goes well, this jet will be operational in 25 years! So if you like to jump between continents as fast as possible and have quite a fair amount of patience you are in luck!
