The 3rd prime kicked off with a performance from Lebanese singer Nawal Zoghbi. Asma and Mirhan joined in with the singing of Nawal's song 'Ana Li Mushta'alak'.
I thought Mirhan did better than Asma in this song.
As for Hilda, she looks so cute in a polka dot dress and red pumps!
The first portrait of the night is an Italian mix of a few famous songs. Zaher, Diaa, Nader and Amaal took us to the piazza's of Italy! Very beautiful portrait.
It's about time the nominees came up on the stage ... Jessica did a French song 'Comme Toi' and i have to say, she didn't do well!
Khaled did a Khaliji song 'Maoulai' and Iman did 'Ya Wad Ya Te'il'.
It was time for the French singer Nadia to perform, she did her usual song 'Et C'est Parti'. She was joined by Nader and Amal.
I wonder, doesn't she have any other songs? She did the same one last year!
As Valentine's Day is near, there has to be a Valentine's portrait!
The perfect students for this performance is Adnan! In my opinion, his singing was mediocre! He could have done better.
Abdallah, Bader and Fawaz were up next, they did a song by Starac 1 graduate Bashar Shatti entitled 'Aghanilah'. I was skeptic about this song, but i actually like it! It's nice!
Nawal was up again with Shahinaz and Amal.
As for Friend of the week, this time it's a girl and she's Diaa. Congrats!
Nadia was up again with another one of her songs, 'Vivre'.
Meet Academy's Angels ... Amal, Amaal and Mirhan in black leather and stilettos ... on stage on motorbikes! Wow!
They performed Miriam Fares' song 'Waheshni Eh'.
Next up is Lebanese singer Ziad Burji.
He was joined by Saad, Abdallah and Ahmad as they sang 'Ana Albi 3alaik'.
At this point, the voting for the nominees has stopped!
Another portrait, this time for Kathem Al Saher's song 'Quli Uhibuka'.
Mohammad did the first part and then Abdallah took over. Saad also did part of the song.
Asma and Shahinaz were up next, then Nadia performed her famous song 'Roc' with Diaa and Amaal.
The last performance of the night, just before announcing the results of the audience voting, was from Nawal Zoghbi.
So nominee to be saved by audience voting is Khaled with 56.23%
As for the student to be saved by the students voting, it's Iman. Congrats!

Im sooo happy with the results. Jessica needed 2 go last week! I loved Khaled's reaction win he won, its as if he won the whole star academy lol. I liked the charlies angel montage. They picked the 3 pretties girls but I think Mirhan needs 2 lose a couple pounds, she was about to bust out of those leather pants.

After the 3rd prime it is clear: this season is like the 2nd one - quite predictable!
There is a bunch of mediocrities, very few can sing, and one student sticking out: then, it was Amani Suissi, this year, Shahinaz. I could safely bet on $1000, right now, that Shahinaz will be the winner. The second one most probably will be Saad; the 3 & 4 places are hard to predict as it will depend on the show dynamics. However, it is not hard to see who is heading there: Mustafa, Mirhan, Asma and Abdulah. Unfortunately, Nader, Diaa and Zaher sing only in an affected English in which anyone can pretend to sing, will never learn to sing in Arabic, and will disappear sooner.
This view does not reflect my preferences, as I am trying to follow the LBC guidelines (taken from all previous seasons): those who can sing (in Arabic) and have the stage presence go to the finals, those who make the show interesting and profitable go up to the "quarter-final," or, if they are lucky (like Sally last year) even to the "semi-final."
Otherwise, my personal view is: with the exception of Shahinaz (and charm of Mirhan and Saad), and in comparison with other seasons, they are all, vocally, just a bunch of morons. A below expectations season for the public and not so good one for the LBC profits ...

Ahmed kind of got on my nerves...he is so fake...i used to like him but NOW, after the Jess thing i can't stand him. He wouldn't let go of the fact that she left and everybody looks like they know he's pretending he's upset. He kept going on AND ON about how she was THE BEST & THE MOST TALENTED girl in the academy.

This prime was alright. My favorite part's were as follow's....
-Kazem's song w/ Sa3d, Moh'd & Abdallah.
-The Italian tableau.
-The top 5 because Sa3d was in it.
Hey I agree with you Hamid!! Nadia is boring and the french need to stay in France. So far this season is sooo boring!! And like 4 ppl sing french/english all the time, they need to go on American idol or star academy in france, not star academy lebanon in the MIDDLE EAST where they speak ARABIC!!! I'm sick of hearing so much eng, might as well watch american idol,. they at least sing well. Shainaz is the best and i hope she wins, everyone else is kind of blahhh everyone likes nader, but hes really not that good, and dia needs to learn arabic seriously. They need to have Amr Diab, Nancy Ajram, Elissa, Asalah, Myriam Fares, Dina hayek, ramy ayach on here!! I dont know, there was something about the prime that made it kind of a snooze fest for me. I didn't even finish it all. i skipped like 20 mins at the end untill the results show.
I see there is a great gap this year between students who have great voices and great potential and others who have okay voices and are not even working to better them selves. It's just so boring with some of them and even the dailies focus on the wrong crowd. I would rather watch shahinaz, nader, abdallah, and others who are actually decent and taking this seriously. I don't care for Asma and adnan or Diaa and Saad or Ahmed and Jessica and their stupid love stories. They all bore me
The prime was okay...
Amal B - i love her because she is nice and has a good voice but tonight she was on crack or something. She kept jumping around awkwardly when she was singing totally depleting energy for her voice and looking kinda stupid.
The charlie's angel thing was beyond stupid. The three girls didn't look in sync at all and each was doing her own jumble of arm gestures and weird dancing. ...the singing was nothing special either
I liked the tableau with Mostafa and Adnan. They did really well with the song and it suited their voices
The Italian tableau was one of the best. Diaa and Nader totally owned it. I respect Zaher for trying to be better at singing and he def improved since the previous prime.
Asma - im kinda controversial about her. She has a good voice but she doesnt know how to control it or breath well when she is singing. She always sounds out of breath and it cuts her notes short at the end. She has great potential though, if only she takes her head out of the gutter and focus on her singing rather than Adnan
Shahinaz - quite frankly, probably the best student thing year. She has a strong voice and a wide range and she knows how to control it too. Also when she sings she feels the words. she's not just a cardboard sining or carries a stern nervous face...she seems comfortable at what she does and like someone here said, she def is a candidate for wining the title this year. I also like how she doesnt involve herself in all the little love stories going on in the academy, she even said to Nader...she would never consider someone younger than her and most guys at the academy are.
I also love her friendship with Nader :)
Khaliji students need to break up from each other a bit. they're always together and even in the prime they always sing just khaliji songs together. I think its unfair from the academy to clump them like that in the prime. They deserve better because some of them have really good voices.
I dont have the 24/24 channel so i dont know what Ahmed did after the prime with Jessica's departure..but from what i read here i got only one thing to tell him "get over yourself and shut up...it's one thing to be sad about someone's leave but to put others down by it....big No No" he's getting on my nerves lately with the whole jessica thing
also, hard luck jessica. I didn't think she deserved to leave but Iman deserved to stay more than her. after all its her first nomination and everyone deserves a second chance

Diana, i think you're taking this way too far. Calm down O_o Yea, lebanon is the hosting country but Rola Saas and Co profit out of all of this and if they didn't then it wouldn't have continued for 5 years. Sms and voting money, sponsors, advertisment, etc...all this adds up and goes in the pocket of Rola Saad and Co.
This is a game show for entertainment, you shouldn't take it so seriously to the point of calling all girls of almaghrib al3arabe ugly. Each region has it's own kind of beauty and just because Lebanese girls have a western type of beauty doesnt mean they are any better than anyone else. I've seen Lebanese contestants who were pretty and others who werent...and i've seen non-Lebanese students who are by far most beautiful out of the bunch. so don't generalize and try to get ur point across without being hurtful to others.
I think Jessica was okay and i wouldn't have wanted her to leave but in the given situation when she was nominated against two people who are being nominated for the first time, as opposed to her second nomination...then it's only fair for her to leave. Especially that i don't seem much of a difference between her and Iman (vocally)

some of you guys seriously seriously need to CHILL OUT. Why do you guys think of this as a country competition. I dont care where the person is from....its about their talent and voice. I personally dont like mohammed, but hes jordanian and i am jordanian. It doesnt mean i have to like him. So stop talking about nationalities and about lebanese and generalizing. The worst thing you can ever do is generalizing. It will get you no where in life. ps. Haifa wehbe has had a billion surgeries, shes a HORRIBLE EXAMPLE...and your talking about religion and u use haifa wehbe..do u here yourself?? look at her first....and then tell me. I used to like Star 5, now its just getting boring...these odd relationships need to end. I never here any singing or classes during the dailies...its all focused on love. The students are meh....i like shahinaz's voice..however her presence on stage does not say STAR....she doesnt have a nice stage performance...she needs a lot of work....nader is great...i really really like him...he needs to sing in arabic though....and zaher as well....moustapha is cute....but he needs to work on himself. In general, they need A LOT of work.
i have to admit the gifts from before were alote better, but i think it's b/c it just started so their saving the good stuff for later! but yea i'm happy that jess is finally gone, i mean i don't hate her or anything i just think it's fair b/c she was the weakest. Diaa and Shahinaz have the best voices but diaa cant sing in arabic and shahinaz has no stage presence at all.
So far, there is not one student who has the complete star package- last year shatha, marwa and tina stood out from the beginning.
The seriously need Osama Al-Rahbani's visits because some are just crazy on stage......like Amal B, she has a very good voice etc. but she was dancing like a retard.....wat the hell was she on? lol.
anyway, its sad to see jessy leave coz im sure she had more to give, but good luck 2 her. (lol happy diana? im iraqi n i really liked jessy.)
Umm why doesnt anyone like Amal from algerias voice, it is one of the strongest ones!!! that is soooooo mean. I know that the other Amaal from tunisia didnt do such a good job this prime, but give them a chance! Anywayz, i like this season, but not that much. Its ok! I still dont have a prediction to whom will win, but shahinaz isnt the only one with a good chance!! why Abdullah has a good chance, he doesnt even try to take out that beautiful voice of his. another one is Amal from algeria, she has a strong voice! its really good. Mustapha also has good voice, but he didnt sing at all in the Prime, thats sad! Another one is NAder!! oh my god!! Nader is very good!!! he has a nice voice and will gooooo faaaar!!!! I personaly thought that the prime went well but it wasn't their best. I especially liked Saad he's great. I thought that the "Academy Angels" was weird like them singing in that skimpy leather I didnt like it. I loved Nawal El-zoughbi's look at the end with that dress and her hair tied back. As for all the girls fighting about Lebanon and what not, I think this is going to cause people to start talking about my country and their people and I'm sure others wouldn't like that either so stop plzzz.

from Bolsa Chica, I guess; have you seen any StarAc before? Maybe you have, I am sorry for asking as this is the first season I browse the Waleg site. If you have you might have noticed that LBC is fair in giving all students as equal as possible coverage. Nader is a great, sweet guy; must admit as a "guy" myself. It is evident he can sing in acceptable French, and to some degree in English, which he is rather mimicking. His style, in these languages, is not going to make it easier for him to sing in Arabic - quite the opposite!! He is not able to sing in Arabic, and the more he tries in Fr-En the less he can succeed in Arabic. If he cannot sing any Arabic he is just doomed ... Might finish like Tina last year, if not sooner. So, prepare yourself.
Also, going back to the LBC students individual coverage: from the previous seasons you could notice that all those who are "in focus" - in the "top 5" or in a reportage, or suddenly getting special attention in whatever way - are on the way out ... Nader was first in the top 5 this prime. A hint? ...

you say that "Mustapha, Adnan & Mohamed: have the same level;" vocally - you are right, but, Mustapha has the stage presence, the "charisma;" hence he will go further.
For Asma you might be right if the poor girl does not realize she has to work harder, as she's got really a good potential. The best for her would be if Adnan goes away very soon.
Funny this season, how there are very distinct levels: a group of students that is close to zero, singing-wise, a group that is good in "English howling," and a few that are very solid. Very likely we will see a constant participation of Shahinaz-Mirhan and Saad-Abdulah/Mustafa/or-who else?
By the way, regarding what many commentators disregard, the difference between a "good voice" and a good voice for singing: Zaher has an excellent voice - for the airport announcer.

The fir sat one is "l'italiano vero" (by Toto Cotugno ). Your second reference might be wrong: as far as I can remember Adnan appears in the 3rd prime twice - with Mustafa, and with Saad, never with Diaa !? ...
