So I’m sure there are loads of you out there who watch ‘The Hills’ a story of Laguna Beach girl Lauren Conrad trying to make it in the fashion industry. The plot is interesting by itself but what is even more fascinating is that it is a reality TV show and apparently what we see is actually what happens. I saw a few episodes of the show and really couldn’t handle the fakeness of it all but what really struck me was how unrealistic it was! It made me think: how real is reality TV?
For example there is a dilemma in ‘The Hills’ at this point in time which is that Lauren’s ‘ex-best friend’ and her boyfriend have propagated that Lauren has a sex tape to get back at her. After seeing an interview with Lauren where she was asked about this I realized that to me her unhappiness about this is very fake indeed. Could it be that whilst this show is labeled as ‘Reality TV’ it is actually scripted and when things start to quiet down something like the sex tape rumor is thrown in to fire things up? I guess we will never know!

From a few different interviews I read. they tell the producers what they plan on doing that week, and then they follow them based on that. If someone gets in the shot they will have them redo everything.
They kind of make plots, and love interests. I guess the only thing that's really true about the show is that Lauren and Heidi aren't friends.
I also heard that the girls really don't work at there "jobs" its staged, and Lauren and Audrina don't really live in that apartment. They just use it for filming.
MTV reported a few days ago that for the new 4th season that the girls are going to be living in a new apartment, and having new jobs, and that they just started filming.
The hills is so much fun I'm an addict 4 it i love lauren so much acctullay her story reminds me somehow with my own story especially that lauren in my same age i like her way of acting, thinking & even shopping, she is so cute but shorty. on perezhilton they said that the show season 3 is airing now in UK & at the written titles they say that some parts of the show are made to entertain the viewer (fake), although its great & I'm tunning & waiting it 2 air on the aribic tvs :-)
