Omar Khayrat is without a doubt a huge part of Egyptian culture and has been labeled one of the greatest musicians of all time, and so it is no surprise that he was chosen to play in Slovenia in an attempt to introduce Egyptian culture to this part of Europe. Khayrat will be playing in the capital Ljubljana in March at the Sancreed cultural centre, one of this biggest of its kind in the whole of Europe.
According to the Egyptian Ambassador, this will not be the only way of displaying the Egyptian culture in Slovenia; there will also be a museum opening on the 3rd of March which will showcase some of the most amazing historic pieces. There will also be a two week ‘Egyptian Film Festival’ in Slovenia, which will display a large array of Egyptian movies from different ages amongst other events.
I think this is a great way of introducing the Arab culture to Europe and is an excellent form of co operation between two different ends of the world. It is things like these that really do keep the world connected.
