Recently Adel Emam and Shereen Seif El Nassr arrived in the small island of Bahrain to perform their play ‘Bodyguard’. There was a lot of hype about the play on the island and about the arrival of these renowned stars and tickets apparently sold out like crazy regardless of their extreme prices. I was fortunate enough to acquire a ticket in the third row and was thoroughly disappointed! The play had an unsatisfactory plot line and I found it in no way entertaining.

There was quite a shock in the audience due to the abundance of girls on stage that were dressed in ‘inappropriate’ clothing! The acting was the biggest shock, it was normal and a lot less then what you would expect and what you see on your TV screens. It seemed I was not the only one who felt this way as several members of the audience decided to leave less than an hour into the performance regardless of the fact that they had paid quite a lot of money for their seats.
