Syrian actor Tayem Hassan’s success as King Farouk this Ramadan meant that every major talk show ranging from ‘El Kahera El Youm’ to ‘El Beit Beytak’ wanted to interview him. Well during his interview on ‘El Kahera El Youm’ a Saudi Arabian lady called him up to say that she was so impressed by King Farouk from the series that she decided to perform Omra for him! Obviously, this turned on some red lights as King Farouk was accused of several things including propagating his ideas and endangering the security of Egypt at the time.

Tayem stated quite bluntly during another interview that he really didn’t expect the reaction he got from the audience. I must say the man did an amazing job; he made the character so believable that people are actually praying for the King’s soul. Many people are saying that Tayem’s performance and the sheer quality of the series this year changed everyone’s perspective of what a historical series really can be!
