Recently a list with names of several Arab celebrities who had apparently been evading taxes was leaked by the Egyptian government to the press without the celebrities in questions consent! This lead to several of those on the list denying the accusations of tax evasion, but some seem to have taken it more seriously than others. Saber Al Rebai sent out an official statement to all newspapers that he describes as ‘respectable’ to say that he didn’t evade any taxes.

He added that he paid his taxes in 2003 and hasn’t done anything which he would have to pay taxes on ever since. I don’t understand why the Tax officials in Egypt would try and slum the reputations of all these celebrities for no reason. Obviously them being a socialites is being used against them and I don’t think it’s fair! I believe Saber has paid of his taxes but who is to blame for this sham?
