You may have read my previous articles on Syrian actors and actresses taking part in Egyptian dramas this Ramadan. Many people argue that this was a great idea and that it showed unity between Arabs in the field of the Arts. However, one Syrian actor who says he does not want to be part of Egyptian dramas is Abbas Al Nouri! He says that he is like a Syrian plant that if removed from its place of growth could wilt and die. He says he belongs in Syria and on Syrian TV and that if he wants to grow he must do so in his own country.

Nouri has been known for his shows which explore the Syrian environment. I guess this could be seen as a patriotic gesture and that his stance is due to pure love for his country. However, I think that we are all Arabs and we are joined by a love for the Arab world as opposed to that of a specific country. I think it would be beneficial for any actor to leave his comfort zone inside his country and explore new horizons, especially that Egyptian series have a very different style to Syrian dramas.

Mimi,
"syrian drama is where he belongs and he shudnt move. hes perfect there. ."
you are right 100% i have the same idea. and just as you said " moving into eygptian drama wont really benefit him" actually this will destruct his career just like what happend with jamal solaimane, he was my perfect actor in the arabic world, but i dislike him since "hada2iq chaytan" puuuuuuuufff . the proverbe is right: "meen kharaj min daro 2tqali me2daro"
and i just hope the other syrians actors will stay home and create more and more in syrian DRAMA.
