The managers at Melody must have realized that there policy of going against the current and making controversial adverts really paid off. This is because adverts with disgusting and unethical themes are constantly made on this channel in order to ‘Challenge boredom’. The newest of these adverts is a fictional competition where the prize is the one and only: Dana. The advert starts with the announcing of the name of the winner who answered the difficult question ‘What has four wheels and travels on a road?’

Then it continues to show the winner with a huge smile on his face and Dana, his prize, by his side. This advert takes us back to the days where women were seen as objects that money can buy and that they are worthless and made to provide men with pleasure. As if that wasn’t enough the advert is followed by the slogan ‘If your life is empty, fill it with money’. Personally after seeing this I was left speechless! How could anyone be allowed to put this on TV?
