If you are one of those people who spend along time in front of the television especially in Ramadan then you will have realized the abnormal amount of Egyptian celebrities taking part in commercials. The commercial business used to be mostly taken advantage of by singers and football players but obviously actors and actresses saw how profitable it could be and wanted a cut! If there is anything more jaw dropping than the sheer abundance of those commercials it is how much they get paid for them. Abla Kamel for example stars in a washing powder advertising and is paid half a million Egyptian Pounds for that one commercial and she will be paid more if they company asks her to do another one.
One of my favorite commercials is the one that has Mona Zaki and Ahmed El Saka and you would not be able to guess how much each of them made from it. Ahmed was paid 600,000 E.P and Mona 400,000 E.P for that 30 second advertisement. As for Mona’s husband Ahmed Helmi, he has joined the Pepsi stars and is paid 750,000 E.P for his advert. Even older celebrities such as Ezzat Abou Ouf and Hassan Hosni entered the advertisement race this season!

in the world of commercials this is not new, it just invaded the arab world recently, we unconsciously relate to celebrities as if we live with them and that makes product selling just like ur friend being in that commercials, and trust me if it doesnt pay the companies they wont pay that much, from 10$ use 1$ on the product and 9$ on the marketing
