It is now common knowledge that Adel Imam is planning to make a movie where he plays the role of a priest. However, before he plays such a controversial part and presents the topic of religious terrorism in Egypt he must receive permission from religious authorities. There were speculations recently about whether or not Pope Shenouda III would actually give Adel the go ahead especially that the movie has Christian terrorists.

It seems that all these speculations were incorrect because Pope Shenouda III not only allowed Adel to proceed but he also blessed the movie and said he understood that the movie needed to be made. There were also some sensitive points that needed to be discussed with the Pope and these were pointed out during his meeting with Adel. Obviously the subject matter of the movie is controversial and Adel Imam understands that but it is essential that religious tension be brought to light. Filming of the movie will commence after Eid and after Adel finds the rest of the stars and the director for his movie.
