Some of you may remember this weird and amazing love story that was sparked between a Bahraini Princess and a US Marines soldier a while ago. Well it seems that this fairy tale was not mean to have a happy ending as Princess Mariam’s family lawyer has announced that she will be returning to Bahrain alone. It looks like living in Las Vegas without the perks of being directly related to the King of Bahrain really got to Princess Mariam after all. This story started when Jason Johnson a US Marines Officer and Princess Mariam met in Bahrain and fell in love.

However, as can be expected Mariam’s family weren’t very happy about it and with this added pressure they felt they had to run. Mariam apparently dressed as a Marines Officer herself escaped the country with forged papers and lost contact with her family. This story may seem merely strange to us but it caused some serious tension between Bahrain and the USA!
