Egypt To Be Represented At Oscars!

In the Heliopolis Flat

Recently a Board of artists that included directors ,such as Sameer Seif, actors such as Layla Elwi, and writers such as Mohammed Salmawi was put together to choose a film that it so represent Egypt at the Oscars. After viewing around 40 movies, ‘Shaket Masr El Gedeeda’ (In the Heliopolis Flat) was chosen by this board to compete in the ‘Best Foreign Movie’ category at this years Oscars. ‘Shaket Masr El Gedeeda’ which stars Khaled Abu EL Naga, Ghada Adel and Ahmed Rateb is mainly about the search of love and its meaning.

This isn’t the first time that an Egyptian movie was chosen to go to the Oscars, last year ‘Omarat Yacoubian’ was chosen and so was ‘Sahar El Layali’ three years ago. Obviously this is a huge chance for not only the Egyptian cinematic community but for the stars of the movie to make their mark. However, before the movie hits the Oscars it has to be shown in American theatres and has to make a certain amount of profit and remain in theatres for a certain number of weeks.

I feel sick when I read ,some of the stupid comments :what is your country ! where are coming from! people being sarcastic for no reason! people do not like to see others doing well !! Grow up Arabs.. We should know the Ethics of Chat without insulting each other ..
There are 27 countries now in the European Union and they will have more . These countries , had wars against each other ,speak different languages ,even different believes . Unlike us , the Arabs ,we have lots in common ,yet we are still deal with each other as the tribes used to be one day . No one feels Ok if his brother is doing good , always jealous of each other . We fail to have even acommon market ,although we make work with all our resources ,yet we love to export from other countries . Some countries , who are not involved with Israel in any respect are just running behind Isreal
