King Farouq : The Last King of Egypt

king farouq

The story of the last King of Egypt, King Farouq, has always been full of rumors, fabricated details & lies! This Ramadan, Syrian director Hatem Ali, comes to the rescue & tries his best to show the world the real story of Farouq ... a son, a brother, a husband, a King!
It's the story of a young man, 16 years of age, who finds himself a King of one of the biggest countries in the region, at a time of war & turmoil!
Ali says that his choice to bring back King Farouq to life, is not to brighten up his image or make it shine, but it's to give it justice & show the human side of him ... a man, like all men.

As for choosing Syrian actor Tayem Hassan for the role, Ali said that it's not because he's a fellow Syrian! But because of his skill & ability to give intensity to the character.
It's not about geography anymore! In art, boundries have not place.
We are in a time that allows people from all races & nationalities to work together to give the audience a work of art that will be to their liking.

Did you watch the first episode of King Farouq on MBC? What do you think so far?

This is a tale about my family, we are royalty with out a country. I like this show and I watch it every day. I hope one day the monarchy will return to the great land of Egypt. Egypt is now a country governed by a militaristic regime of 1952. It's glamour is no more, it has been shattered by the polotics and corruption of peasants ocupying a royal position. Egypt used to be for the people, now its for the political parties and money being laundered left right and center.
Egypt will return to a Kingdom, mark my word, Us fromt he Mohamed Ali Dynasty will be restored.
I recomend every one to watch this and see what egypt was, how beautiful and clean it was, how rich with culture and obidience it was. Hats off to the producer. Thank you on behalf of the Mohamed Ali Dynasty.

This is a great show for anyone that wants to know their history and is too lazy to look it up on their own, you Egyptians I mean, just look to this and see what greatness we were. We were a people of prestige and worth, and now we are nothing. The Coupe that happened in the 50s was for no reason and I do believe that the Monarchy will come back, because the greatest thing to happen to Modern Egyptian Rule was Mohammed Ali Basha and Malik Farouk I, and Egypt needs to go back to greatness as it was before the whole mess the Army pulled.

At last this serie showed the real king Farouq
he was just a great person & our generation only knew that this was a black phase in the egyptian history.. King Farouq loved his country wanted his people to live in peace & dignity.. the serie is amazing all actors played the roles perfectly.. i personnaly lived each & every moment of this serie & specially the last episode i kept on crying about the bad destiny that hit our country afterwards!!
special thanks to Dr. Lamis Gaber & Mr. Hatem Ali and of course TAYEM HASSAN who was indeed King Farouq
