Lebanese star Iwan got a lot of attention from all forms of the media during the release party of his new album ‘Irgaa Leya’ (Come Back To Me). The launching ceremony was attended by several of the Arab worlds most celebrated musicians and Iwan took the opportunity to sing a few songs from his new album for them. The new album includes 12 songs composed and written by several big musicians but it seems Iwan has begun to emerge as a composer and lyricist himself!
Iwan composed and wrote the song ‘Lebnani’, in addition to composing two songs titled ‘Dawebny feek’ and ‘Ma Hada Ghayrak’. Iwan signed a personal thank you note to Hosam Habeeb and Nabeel Edward who were in charge of the creative side of making the album. I think it’s great that a singer is expanding his career into other realms of the making of music. What do you think? Is it good for singers to compose and write or should they stick to what they usually do?
