for the age his over 40 that's mean in arabic fossha (kahl = old), so he's old he's not young , but he's not that old to retire, proof Wadi3 saif he still singing! fayrouz, warda jazairiya,& before there were abdel wahab, oum kaltoum, abdel halim, andfor abdelhalim, he realised many film at lod age and played the lover part! so since the singer has the goos and strong voice to sing why not!even at 100 years!

For the record, Amr Diab is not yet 45. I've met him, worked with him and was really glad to have made the acquaintance of such a dedicated artist a great talent, a humble soul and a good man in general. Amr may come from humble beginnings, but you've got to respect him for coming such a long way through years of hard work and total dedication to his art.

As for the age bit, all I have to say to all those who think he's ancient is chill out guys and look around you. If he's ancient, what do you call Kazem El Saher, Assi El Hilany, Wael Kfoury, George Wasouf, etc., etc., etc. Age has nothing to do with it and besides, 40 today is the new 20. If an artist still has something to give, then who in the world are we to ask them to stop? Or do we just shelf those who are over 40 and completely shut out those over 50. Maybe we should round up those who are even older (Sabbah, Wadie El Safi, Fayrouz, Warda, etc.,) and take them out back and shoot them while we're at it. How dare they offend us with their (horror of horrors) old looks?!!! Amr Diab looks good for someone in his early 40's. The guy is fit, healthy and not bad to look at at all. Heck, he looks great. As an artist, he obviously still has a lot to give and in spite of all those who are having issues with him shooting a song in California with a pretty model....you're all so green with envy, aren't you? Get over it...he's here to stay and with his fitness regimen (I don't know whether he's had any work done, and if he has, it's minimal) and the lifestyle he leads, the guy will go on being a well preserved and very pleasant looking super star.
