Haifa, Ruby and Elissa banned in Syria

Lebanese singers cause moral deterioration in Syria ... Let's ban them from singing!
What could be more absurd than this?
One Syrian official has decided to ban Lebanese singers from performing in Syria because they cause moral deterioration !!!
The black list contains Haifa Wehbe, Elissa and Ruby - Although Ruby isn't Lebanese! - I guess she was added to the list at the last minute!

On the other hand, Russian singers and Iraqi artists are also ok ... Especially those that perform in night clubs!

I guess those don't cause moral deterioration ... Do they?

Ehhh la2anou Elissa declared once her admiration for Samir Geagea and eluded to the fact that they're distant relatives ; Haifa was seen singing and shaking his hand on a New Year's eve concert in the Cas. du Liban....
Now if they sang a song like their other Lebanese counterparts for "Ramz el3ouribi" the little lion, the list would have been quite different!!!! Poor Ruby ya 7aram....

I would understand and respect the ban if it was really for 'moral reasons', but this is not the case here.

Yalla dakhilak la2aya bili anyway the lot of them, those singers and the Syrian officials.....
Anyway it is their country or bil a7ra "Syria AlAssad", so him and his minions can do whatever they wish.

Okay after writing all that, are these three the only ones on the list? Just in case ya3ni ykounou mazloumin :)

syria hates the singers that loves lebanon till death and with the goverment and with the army and loves the people that are with her and with the other side of people like genral aoub, hezb allah ,hezeb il souri il kawmi ,hezeb il bahs in lebanon ,marada and much more for example najwa karam is with the syrian regime and sang for bashar al assad in renewal for him and he is dectatore and najawa when she married roustme ghazale the president of syria in lebanon that he went out after the cedres revolution has let her to talk with her family agian.....hoda haddad not fayroux sis that sings meen ghyrak no sound but with bashar welcome to syria more rolla saad that dont say with whom in politics has no voice but she has more then 3 concerts in syria...no voice ,elissa took a world award and elissa didnt vist syria since 2005 after the murder of the formal PM rafik harri and she dont need syria cause her fans are more then syria world wide and in syria they used to love her but when the goverment knew that she is with LF (lebanese forces) they hated it ...haifa i think that she dont need syria and syria said that arab singers but mostly lebanese singers that are agianst her mybe ruby they put her cause they cant leave lebanses names cause lebanses will say politics but in beirut they say 100%%%% politics

I doubt it has anything 2 do with politics. If they wanted 2 make a REAL political statement using the entertainment industry then...

A) they would ban male singers (sexist but true)
B) they wouldn't ban Ruby
C) they would pick a more symbollic Leb entertainer such as Sabah who was recently in Syria anyway or Najwa Karam (who is not exactly mo7tarama in my books but she is a better example of a singer than all 3 of those mentioned put together & she doesn't make videoclips 4 purposes of male lust). The truth is they are all focused on al eghra2 & being sl*tty. Swtch on your brains people rather than running your mouth off with thick responses.

So far as Russians and nightclubs r concerned; how many popular Russians do we actually know of in the Arab world who have an influence on Arabs or Arab youth or ever had an influence 4 that matter? Exactly ZERO!

How many popular Iraqi singers do we all know off? ONE called Kazem! There are hundreds of Leb singers be reasonable!

Politicians will only ban people with a big influence; either positive or negative. Same as how Egypt bans sheyookh like Youssef il Qaradawy & Amr Khaled (who has been allowed back in2 Egypt this year apparently). It has nothing to do with nationality. It's all about the influence on the audience, what kind of influence it is & the impact of their performances in general (e.g.trends within youth circles).

Me again...Not that I mean 2 be cheeky or anything but how come it says the following in the article about Haifa direcly below fil home...

'Haifa is scheduled to perform in may countries around the world during August.
Her fans from Ehypt, Syria & Morocco are waiting for her, as well as her fans in Malaysia & Australia ... For whom she'll be performing for the first time!'

ELISSA has a concert in TUNISIA and i hope never she will come another time in Tunisia because she treated a Tunisian people in so bad way she doesn't respect the persons neither her fans neither journalist she said"ouf 5ala tounes" i was her fan but now i hate her i hope never see her in tunisia, the real artist is bakhla9ou awalan bas rouhou 9oulou haida la elissa!!

7 August, 8:39PM

Sabah ya Sam is always thanking Bashar AlAssad for being the one paying her medical expenses.
As for Najwa Karam, we all know why they will not ban her for political reasons.

As for our male singers, they were bought already, they are cheaper to buy than our female ones.....

So yeah if you are talking about the situation in Syria and Lebanon, anything is possible. We all know how politics are done in Syria...

Hey this decision can be about 'moral reasons' but then again in regards to the situation now, anything is possible and I do believe that it can be related to politics....
Real political statements are not needed right now in Syria, they already made more than one with Michel Kilo and other Syrian intellectuals that signed the "Beirut-Damascus Declaration" which calls for normalization of relations between Syria and Lebanon; they are now in jail!! It is not about making a statement, it is about politics pure and simple.... Anything is possible, could be genuine :D

Most of today's current performers should be banned everywhere really... They butchered Arabic music!!!

I can agree 2 some extent with u silvana but it still doesn't explain Ruby, I also believe Syria is being used as a constant international excuse 4 everything u know...Who farted, blame it on Syria.

I like many singers for their voices, but I never like or dislike any shakhseya coz as much as u want 2 believe they r good or from heaven...it simply isn't true. I don't like those jokers who are in the entertainment business & actuallyyyy want me to believe that they r artists. The only personality I like is Yusuf Islam aka Cat stevens coz we met him & his daughters, and coz his songs feehom ma3na mish...I love u and u love me and the sky is blue, your eyes r deep and the grass is green so lets go to the moon and eat from the same spoon...and this kind of continuous rubbish!

Abdel 7aleem is a great singer, Elvis, David Bowie, Stevie Wander, Beatles, Sinatra, Jackson clan, Aretha Franklin, Nagat, Fairouz, 3adaweya- il sa7 il da7 imboo edil wad laboo...I like many many voices b anwa3ha, a good voice is a gift from God. But u have to admire also the voices of a good quranic reader or the voices in mecca during Ramadan time, & u have 2 respect that they r gifted with beautiful voices but don't choose the easy money route of singing.

Hey Silvana what do u think of Any Winehouse? She's obviously a bit messed up, or a lot and she's a skinny stalk full of toxic muck but apart form that all what what do u think?

S.M.S.
7 August, 11:27PM

Sam,
She has a great voice apart from all that lol.... I like "tears dry on their own".
I agree on the singers you mentioned... I do like a few singers based on their personality, but they are far and few in between. Mostly I listen to songs and not go ooh aah I love u whomever!!!
I do tend to have a favourite song that I listen to every now and then, mine now is for Khalid Ajaj or 3agag as Egyptians would pronounce it.... A bit depressing but what a voice!! Do u like him???

S.M.S.

the message is for Miss Missy, are u serious, are u for real??? how old are u?? i would say u're very immature, Syria is a filthy place, excuse me???? i'm a Syrian/Canadian and i just came back from Syria and would like to inform u that Syria is a beautiful, peacefull, generous, polite country!!!, they welcome u people when u come to Syria and show off with your expensive, rented cars, they treat u with respect and decency, i went to Beirut and ive seen first hand how u treat the Syrians, u give them false info and directions, some dont even bother to answer when u talk to them , they cant even come with their cars in fear u'll destroy them , write rude comments or play with the tires, and u have the courage to say Syria is filthy???listen Syria isnt the one destroying your country, it's your own people so inform yourself bfore u come on here and write untrue, rude and immature comments, and that goes for all the haters out there, anyways, arab people know Syria is a nice place, i've seen Iraqis, khallijiyeen, Iranians, Jordanians vacationning in Syria and they love it have u ever been there little Missy?? i guess not , u still in your little caccoon huh?? have a good day everybody

Of course who hate their own country. Syria has helped Lebonan from day to other day from morning and night during the war; mostly people lived their until the war finish, but the President is a bad person not the people. Some lebonan still hate that country. Even America want to enter, but you scare them like a rat……. unlike Iraq it has been destroyed and stolen from American…/ so you came all the way from Syria and defend you’re country…well then good for u Rachael.

8 August, 1:37AM

I think an objective opinion would more likely be that all political leaders r bad & have personal motives. Bashaar obviously isn't popular...but give me one political leader or politician who is? The best 2 I can think of who openly speak their mind with reason, historical facts & common sense r Tony Benn who 90+ (and still campaigns & attends debates/lectures) & George Galloway who was put on trial by Washington 4 no ethical cause. In terms of the Mid-East there isn't anyone who speaks 4 the people. That's probably why there is too much admiration 4 the pathetic 'singers'.

I know that song u r talking about Silvana, from a movie soundtrack right? Every1 seems 2 like that song. The song is nice but the guys voice, I can't quite figure out what I make of it!

8 August, 2:00AM

America doesn't want 2 enter Syria...Syria has no oil. But America is not used 2 countries who say 'no' 2 it & answer back constantly.

In the case of Iran...America wants Iran 2 have more power than Arabic countries because Sunnism was the real threat. What is happening with Syria & Iran is just a drama 2 make u think that they r real threats when actually they aren't at all. More 'terrorists' have come from Saudi, Algeria, Moroc, Egypt, Pakistan, Somalia or are western converts...How many Pals, Iraqi, Syrian international 'terrorist' plotters can u count?

The fear that most countries would be Sunni controlled is what drove the Americans 2 calculating 2 give shi3as power in Iraq. And all what is happening in Iraq was expected.

If all Arab countries maintained Sunni leadership then there is always going 2 be a risk that one day Arab countries will form a strong union & be a global power.

It is also one of the reasons why Africa is largely kept diseased & starved. Because sunnism is spreading through it at phenomenal pace & birth rates r still high. And so the risk is more countries will have a sunni majority. Syria has never been a threat.

S.M.S.
8 August, 2:12AM

Sam, I have to agree about our politicians :(...
Also in regards to the international pressure placed on Syria, but it looks like Bashar is batting his eyelashes a bit at the USA, so they could become bossom buddies (well that's a bit far fetched, more like I do what u want if u give me what I want).... Who knows, and it could be the opposite. Politics sucks!!

I don't know if it was a sound track, I was talking about A3ab hob, was it??...
Apparently my favourite song when I was 3 years old was "Na3am na3am ila el abad ya Hafez AlAssad" or something along those lines, hehe. When my parents used to visit my grandma in the North, I used to love to watch Syrian TV and loved their patriotic songs mostly about their president. Ah to be young again...

No one can full-heartly talk abt syrian infulence in lebanon unless u r living it everyday.... and im not speaking abt the syrian ppl... im speaking abt its regime.. and u cant balme it 100% for all the crimes (assasinations, bombs, clashes) going on in lebanon, beacuse many lebanese groups also have a large deal 2 do with it. but the maker of the plan are the syrians (politically, plz no1 think im talking abt the ppl, unless the ppl support it) all the killings were against anti-syrian speakers... many innocent lebanses politicans were killed: gebran, pierre, rafi2, samir, george, basel, walid.....
no1 can deny that the syrian regime is like a dictarship, or sort of a mafia: u must do wut they force u 2 do, otherwise u r killed...
i KNOW that elissa was banned 4 political reasons... haifa im not sure bcz she supports a pro-syrian group... and rouby isnt even lebanse...
as 4 the ppl who sang for al-asad.... they r traitors.... all of them, whether they sang t2day or 10 years ago, bcz the syrian negative infulence has been present for over 20 years....
i used to be one of najwa karams biggest fans.... 2day i cannot see her face! shame on her and on all other lebanses singers that sang at the concert or made a song.... even wa2el kfoury 3am bi jarreb ybayed wijou by singing for the lebanese army... shame on them all....
but, even in the end, politics are politics.... they shouldnt interefere with music....
we dont see the lebanses government banning syrian singers (and they have better excuses to do so), so syria shouldnt either....
this is speaking in a open-minded and objective manner....

in my personal opinion, elissa haifa and rouby should be happy, if syria doesnt appreciate their art and music.. "wil daynton!" =P

U should be willing 2 learn from others just as people should learn from u, but with kalam 7elw w lateef & if I am wrong then u can correct me in a decent way...not go & hit yourself! Would u like it if someone spoke that way 2 u or 7ad min 3eltak? tab3an la2.
