Many of you will recall Egyptian star Ahmed El Saqqa’s eye injury which he suffered whilst filming an intense action scene in his upcoming movie ‘Al Jazeera’ (The Island). Doctors have allowed Ahmed to get back to filming his movie after a large and costly delay and after his eye improved sufficiently. The cast and crew of ‘Al Jazeera’ are currently at Kimo Land, where they are filming a few scenes after which they will return to Luxor to finish the movie.
Although doctors have allowed Ahmed to return to work, he has to take several precautions which include wearing dark sunglasses at all times including rehearsals. Ahmed is only allowed to take off the glasses when he is actually filming the scene and once he’s done he has to put them back on. Fortunately doctors have announced that Ahmed’s full eyesight will return after a year!

i adore u ahmed el saka!!! hope u recover sooner and quicker!!
I AM SOOO HAPPY CZ I WZ THE FIRST TO POST A COMMENT ON SUCH A SPECIAL ACTOR (AT LEAST TO ME)!!
Is this movie a copy of Lost the amazing tv show ????????????????????
cuz that would B really embarrassing like Mafia and tito which copied lots of american action movies...........i don't know why those egyptian artists have no creativity ??????????
Maryam...
you seoriously need to give me a break.
Egyptians are creativity itself!!
Ever sense T.V was invented,
Egypt was the first and only arab country to give the middle east movies and music(ART). So don't say the Egypt dosen't have any creativity because if it wasen't for us,Arabs wouldn't be known for any thing Artistic!!!
just because we tried to modernize our ART dosen't mean we don't have any creativity once so ever!!!!!!!!!
maryam i just wanna say zat ur soo jealous and its sooo obvious 2 anyone who reads ur comment
hi ahmed wallah i love u so much n i hope all the best 4u im from australia
Hi Mr. Saqqa,
I truly enjoyed that film..great job indeed!
Hope u have recovered competely.
And concerning these comments, well while it's refreshing to hear a plural of comments on pieces of art it is simultaneously refreshing to see advancement in Arabic film genre. Now after watching this film it still presevered the major segments of a typical romance film howvere it was amazingly satisfying to see the expansion of love which stretched to the issues of identity, land, and to see it more profoundly set, a love for Arab colonisation...that was huge .. i liked the courage.
So Mr.Saqqa, thank for epitomising all this in such refined performance.
Looking forward to see more .
cheers,
Joumana.
