Many of you will have seen the movie ‘Kashf Hesab’ or seen clips from it on Melody TV accompanied by a beautiful song titled ‘El Ayam’ and will have realized that the girl singing this song sounds very much like Shereen Abdel Wahab! Truth be told I thought it was her until today when I discovered that it was actually a rising Egyptian 16 year old singer who goes by the name of Somaya.

Somaya’s first album ‘Baeet Betwhashny’ which was produced by Music Day has been released and contains 12 new songs that are predicted to be very successful. Somaya’s voice isn’t the only thing people are talking about, Nasr Mahrous did all that was in his power to sign a contract with Somaya, and seeing as which Nasr was the man Shereen Abdel Wahab left behind after she became a success many predict that Somaya was his way of getting revenge.

Somaya filmed her first video clip for the song ‘Enta Hayati’ which is being aired on Melody TV exclusively but we are still unaware of how far this girl will go and if her stardom will be a problematic one. The question everyone’s asking, is this scary similarity between Somaya and Shereen a mere coincidence or is Somaya another copycat? Only time will tell us!
