Are you trying to tell me when Assalah's album or Kathem's are released everyone listens to them? Is nearly every car in the street listening to them? Did they win 2 world awards, and should have won more. Do they have the highest selling album ever by an Arabian artist?

i just posted a comment saying tamer is the new king because i like tamer more than amr diab but everything has a limit, meme_london ur funnyyyy how can u say asalah and kathem r better than amr diab. hahahaha come on now amr diab has 2 music awards u no what that means that means he is the best but still i like tamer hosny more so u cant even compare them with amr diab.

Obviously you have never heard of a singer called "Om Kolthoum"... Please check the facts and you will find out that she is the best selling arabic singer ever and her albums are the biggest selling arabic albums ever made.

Does she have an advantage? maybe her albums have been released for a very long time. Is that an excuse though? no because good music is classic.

I love Amr Diab, don't get me wrong, it's just your comment threw me off... and please don't talk about 'awards' as we know they can be bought and just imagine if there were 'awards' during the days of Om Kolthoum, how many would she have gotten?

Like I said before he is not the king and he never will be. Because he is Masri and he’s very old to sing like that age. On live show he can’t even pronounce the words smoothly. He keep showing and disappear. He’s very late for years and years. I think I know here wahts going on, he did tag7meel on his face to look like girlish face and he start doing a new album which is very not good.

I think Amr need to check himself in the rehab hospital.

Why are u guys hating each other for...everyone has a different taste about music...some ppl like um kalthom others like asalh and others like kathem elsaher....ppl tend to like different things and i do beleive though that amr diab is a great singer..i mean u shouldnt even compare him with um kalthom cause they are different age/diff generation/diff rythm...its like comparing 2 yr old with 20 yrs old which definately doesnt make sense....i beleive that omar diab is more liked among most generations than asalah or even kathewm elsaher/...however thye are still great but in my opinion the best singer in the MEA is FAYROUZ...i live in canada and every arabic store i go in whether its chaldean, lebanese, syrian, u always tend to hear fayrouz early in the morning which is lovely

Layla, Amr Diab's album "NOUR EL AIN" was the highest selling album ever by a Middle Eastern artist. It was also very sucessfull in Europe and South America. Some of the best European DJ's did various remixes of the song, and it was a phenonmeonal hit. They even have a special album for all the remixes for the songs alone. So what I meant was that "Nour el Ein" is the highest selling Album ever, not that Amr Diab is the highest selling artist ever in the middle east. Although I'm sure he is in the top 5. And has sold more copies than anyone who sings these days.

To each his own. Tastes in life differ and people are supposed to express their opinions and for each one of us to agree or disagree.
So let me say that although Amr Diab can sell more albums than Assalah or Kathem AlSaher, it cannot be denied that they are better, a whole different league where the mediocre talent of Amr has no place in. Not to mention Hani Shaker, Angham etc etc etc. If anyone supposed to be "The King", it is Muhammad Mounir, well that is what I think.
How come these world music awards are suddenly deemed credible when it comes to Amr?
Anyway like him or dislike him, he is successful. Like I said before, he appeared at a time when he seemed original and had the right formula to attract the youth of the day. Now the Amr diabs of the world are a dime a dozen, but unfortunately for them, they came too late.

ahmed r u serious man? how does amr diab not pronounce the words right? he has the best voice when it comes to live music. i no alot of other artists have great voices but not many have great live voices. for example elissa her voice is great but when it comes to live music she sucks most of the time she lip sings. another great live voice is king of generation Tamer hosny. my fav. artists are ofcourse Tamer hosny and then amr diab.

OHH PUHLEEEZ the undisputed king of arabic music really has to be Wael Kfoury, the voice, the style, the looks, the body, the grace, the charisma, and most importantly the smile that melts the heart a million times in a second.
