Algerian singer Amal Wabe has frankly told reporters that if her next album fails, she will give up singing and sell potatoes on the streets! However Amal Wahbe who has become famous in Egypt and the Arab world with her albums titled ‘Al Khayala’ and ‘Chocolata’ is being criticized quite heavily by the media! The reason for this criticism is that Amal’s vanity has lead to her making herself the subject or centre of attention in every single song in her new album.

Amal even has a song that is named after her which angered many people as more famous Algerian stars such as cheb Khaled didn’t even go to that extent! Amal’s album has seen a huge marketing campaign which may be the first of its kind as her picture was on every bill board in Algeria in addition to adverts for her album on the radio and TV. Amal sings in the Algerian dialect in most of her songs in this album except for two which she sang in French, and all of the songs in this album are written by Amal! What do you think, is she vain or just confident?!
