I actually like her. Although she has some faults, I admire her straightforwardness, sincerity, openness, passion, and naturalness. She's pretty real. she doesn't try to paint a perfect picture of herself, and I think waht you see is what you get. I prefer her over khaloud any day, any time. Khaloud claims prefection, but she is far from it.
Anyway, I hope all the mothers will be able to coexist peacefully with their daughters'-in-law.

Fatima, I agree with you 100%. I would much rather have a mom-in-law like Avril rather than Kholood. At least she doesn't paint a rosy picture of herself like Kholood. She doesn't say I'm smart and open minded and educated, etc. And she may be opinionated, but she as a good heart and good intentions unlike kholood who goes around making trouble for other couples. Yes, her sons mean the world to her, but show me a good mother who does not feel like her kids are the most important part of her life. She has been silent for the most part while Kholood goes on giving entire essays for each question she is asked. Mothers are always going to be protective of their offspring, no matter how old they are, and in the Middle East, the mothers of boys are much worse than the mothers of girls. They spend their lives pandering to their boys' every whim and do pamper them like babies.
You cannot know if Avril would be a bad mother-in-law even though she interfers, however that is the rule in our society instead of the exception. I do believe in some instances that some women take it to extremes which can harm their offspring marital happiness and success.
Goodness a lot of mothers are so possessive of their boys, they develop feelings of jealousy towards his intended partner and even any close relationship with his in-laws.
Does she think her son is the centre of the universe? Is there a mother that doesn't? in the wise words of Seinfeld:
" My mother was right, I AM special"
From what little I have seen I prefer her to Khouloud frankly, because the latter does not know when to stop crossing the line of class and honesty, into the territory of crass and rudeness.
However let me add that if ALL of them act he way they do knowing they being paraded on TV, imagine what they would be like in their comfort zone when they think they can get away with much more!!! And then again they are out of their comfort zone, so maybe they are reacting to their confined environment and letting off steam.
Again I add you cannot determine right now if she would be "A Lovable Mother in Law!?", that would be better determined outside of the house, away from prying eyes and interfering strangers. We cannot really make the presumption of knowing what these women would be like as future mothers-in-law, whether Khouloud or Avril who seem to attract the most attention, based on what's shown on TV.
Lastly who would marry a man going to such a show to seek a wife attended by his mother?!!!

I love tante Avril! I totally agree with what Audrey had said! Avril is genuine, she doesn't try and say things that people would want to hear! my problem was after Avril over reacted and told gaby and all the girls that the girl follows the man, then says that a girl only has the option of marrying a guy better then her or lower, equal is not an option, then says that the guy is better then you and you should follow him wherever he goes.........etc. Then Kholoud says how it depends on their lives and where they as a couple can be successful. Ok all that is said and done and avril ignores patty for a while then Bassil asks his mom to make it better.
She makes it better by telling Patty that her opinion is to go where they will be successful!! ok just a second ago Kholoud said that and avril freaked on her and now its a good idea??????? i think that she is fake and that they should have shown that in the reportage during the prime to remind avril that she is on camera and that all of us can see her. Give me Avril any day over Kholood and her scheming, plotting, war-like behavior. She is nothing but trouble and the so-called advice she gives the girls usually implies more trouble. She is very militant in her approach to life. And the reason they direct many questions to her during the Prime is not because she is so wise and strong, as someone stated above, it's because she's like a newspaper and can talk endlessly and has all the Arabic sayings memorized. Yes, she's good at making herself sound open, but she's a devious woman who is only looking out for herself, and not her son. That's the main difference between her and Avril; Avril gets emotional and overreacts because she adores her son and he's the whole reason she came to the show. Wassim is not ready for marriage, has said so many times, is still a teenager, has not finished his education, has no income or job, yet his mom thinks he's ready for marriage. Such a strange concept from so wise a woman, isn't it? Or perhaps, Kholood is only in this for her own fame and moment in the spotlight.
I think she and Avril would make a great idea for a tv comedy show....they are very entertaining.

I like what I hear from kholod, she always says the right thing, she get the question so quickly because she is so clever and well educated.
Waseem is so honest, and when he says I am not ready, he means now, but he said that could be change coz he is in love with Aya now. not like others who said I am in love from the 1st or 2nd week. He tood his time to get to know Aya and then he started to like her and after more than a month he said I love this gir. Don't you see that he is the only one who is not acting.
I feel Wassim and Aya are realy now in love, they took their time and come to strong relationship, They are the only couple who didnt get in fight with any or said a bad work to any, they were working on getting to know each other all time.
Aya and Wassim know too much about each other with the help from Kholod.
I think they have the strongest relation among the other couple and if they don't marry now, that is fine at least they found each other and they will marry if not this year the year after.
Kholod said she will do whatever her son wants, and they are their to help him, Wassim the only guy who has his own flat waiting for him if he decide to marry now.
All the above approve that kholod and wassim are not after prize but to find good wife for him and try different way in doing so.

Please tell us how you have so much inside information about this show? Do you work for LBC? Do you have substantiated proof that Avril's sons are sending these messages? If you have proof, please share with us otherwise all you're doing is spreading false rumors. You know that kholod and others can't talk or meet with their family without LBC attendance or camera with them, because they are not allowed to exchange information about the show or participants.
Avril said and we all heard her saying, that her sons told her. So can you explain to me how her sons manage to give her this information. There is two ways either while they are on phone with her or by sending her sms under different name they both agreed on before. On phone as we said LBC will be watching so it can't be, unless, LBC is treating her differently.
Also sara, I sent many sms, also my friends, to kholod and her son, non has been delivered. Why?
During the chatting hour, we spend 1 hour just listening to messages how patty pretty, patty give bassel kiss, and when there is message to others, few is how nice they are, but most of it why you are doing this to patty or basil, patty be carefull from poussy, line or fatema, or why are you talking about patty (as if patty doest talk at all, we all heard her who she keep talking about the girls and complaining to basil and gabi, like little girl), and poor girls spend their time defending themselves, and patty laughing at them or give them that bad look.

When avril got mad and left the group, they were all in chocked of her reaction. She took it too personal, gabi was in great chock,
and there when gabi and kholod start to say, why she is mad, and then said to patty if in one issue she refuse to discuss and give her final word. How you will solve other problems in your life, and that you should talk to her and open all subject.
Now what is wrong with what kholod said, it is clear and straight forward. Why avril fan make a big issue out of it and send many messages to avril saying be careful from kholod.

Did you see the last few days. all the time camera on patty and bassil, and what are they doing, nothing, she is teaching him french. That is so boaring.
when they have the camera on the other group, which usualy few mintues, we have great fun, they do jokes, play, talk serious. i dont move when they are on screen.
And yesterday, when the group wanted to go out, patty give that face and said ya allah, lets go inside. so the group decided to stay inside. and we stuck with the silly conversation between patty and bassil, even many mesages apears on tv asking the control to change the camera view, but no one listen. if LBC think we will love them, i am saying they are making us board more and more of them and childish attitude. and hear patty unpleast fake laugh.

Mothers are always going to be protective of their offspring, no matter how old they are, and in the Middle East, the mothers of boys are much worse than the mothers of girls. They spend their lives pandering to their boys' every whim and do pamper them like babies.
You cannot know if Avril would be a bad mother-in-law even though she interfers, however that is the rule in our society instead of the exception. I do believe in some instances that some women take it to extremes which can harm their offspring marital happiness and success.
Goodness a lot of mothers are so possessive of their boys, they develop feelings of jealousy towards his intended partner and even any close relationship with his in-laws.
Does she think her son is the centre of the universe? Is there a mother that doesn't? in the wise words of Seinfeld:
" My mother was right, I AM special"
From what little I have seen I prefer her to Khouloud frankly, because the latter does not know when to stop crossing the line of class and honesty, into the territory of crass and rudeness.
However let me add that if ALL of them act he way they do knowing they being paraded on TV, imagine what they would be like in their comfort zone when they think they can get away with much more!!! And then again they are out of their comfort zone, so maybe they are reacting to their confined environment and letting off steam.
Again I add you cannot determine right now if she would be "A Lovable Mother in Law!?", that would be better determined outside of the house, away from prying eyes and interfering strangers. We cannot really make the presumption of knowing what these women would be like as future mothers-in-law, whether Khouloud or Avril who seem to attract the most attention, based on what's shown on TV.
Lastly who would marry a man going to such a show to seek a wife attended by his mother?!!!

I love tante Avril! I totally agree with what Audrey had said! Avril is genuine, she doesn't try and say things that people would want to hear! Like Kholoud, she says one thing but doesn't really feel that way! She wants ppl to hate Avril and love her! I know that Avril wouldn't want ppl to hate Avril!
I think Avril has parting issues, this is her first son serious about marriage! So it will be hard for her! I think it's just with her son she's this way! I think after she gets rid of him she won't be like this anymore because she has already been through it once begore! I mean it's her eldest child! Or at least eldest son! She won't be like this once they're married!

I do watch the programme 24/24, Avril is not the mother in law I would like my daughter to have, the life will be misrable.
She even tried to control who Patty should speak to and who is her friends, she even told her son to stop patty from talking to gabi, can u belive that. She told her son to convince patty to put oil on her hair coz she didnt listen to her, and u know what, bassil tell recently keep asking patty to do what his mum asking!!!! is he the man you wish to marry one day. mum's little boy
avil keep saying, I dont talk about anyone, but she is the one who keep giving lectures all time, she talked about all the girls even patty, and she think that she is above all mothers and there are low class. Cant believe someone like this mum.
Kholod talk too much, she gave opinion on some when she has been asked, which most of us discovered that what she said is correct.
All girls go and asked her opinion when they need any coz she is open mind and she say what is best for them even if others dont agree. I like her personality, but I dont like when she talk laud.
At prime when they need a direct and responsible answer they direct it to kholod, she is always ready with great answers. I a dmire her strong personaity
my problem was after Avril over reacted and told gaby and all the girls that the girl follows the man, then says that a girl only has the option of marrying a guy better then her or lower, equal is not an option, then says that the guy is better then you and you should follow him wherever he goes.........etc. Then Kholoud says how it depends on their lives and where they as a couple can be successful. Ok all that is said and done and avril ignores patty for a while then Bassil asks his mom to make it better.
She makes it better by telling Patty that her opinion is to go where they will be successful!! ok just a second ago Kholoud said that and avril freaked on her and now its a good idea??????? i think that she is fake and that they should have shown that in the reportage during the prime to remind avril that she is on camera and that all of us can see her. Poor patty if she marries Bassil, yeah he is great and funny and smart but if his mom is going to be like this, she is going to have the worst life ever.
Give me Avril any day over Kholood and her scheming, plotting, war-like behavior. She is nothing but trouble and the so-called advice she gives the girls usually implies more trouble. She is very militant in her approach to life. And the reason they direct many questions to her during the Prime is not because she is so wise and strong, as someone stated above, it's because she's like a newspaper and can talk endlessly and has all the Arabic sayings memorized. Yes, she's good at making herself sound open, but she's a devious woman who is only looking out for herself, and not her son. That's the main difference between her and Avril; Avril gets emotional and overreacts because she adores her son and he's the whole reason she came to the show. Wassim is not ready for marriage, has said so many times, is still a teenager, has not finished his education, has no income or job, yet his mom thinks he's ready for marriage. Such a strange concept from so wise a woman, isn't it? Or perhaps, Kholood is only in this for her own fame and moment in the spotlight.
I think she and Avril would make a great idea for a tv comedy show....they are very entertaining.

I like what I hear from kholod, she always says the right thing, she get the question so quickly because she is so clever and well educated.
Waseem is so honest, and when he says I am not ready, he means now, but he said that could be change coz he is in love with Aya now. not like others who said I am in love from the 1st or 2nd week. He tood his time to get to know Aya and then he started to like her and after more than a month he said I love this gir. Don't you see that he is the only one who is not acting.
I feel Wassim and Aya are realy now in love, they took their time and come to strong relationship, They are the only couple who didnt get in fight with any or said a bad work to any, they were working on getting to know each other all time.
Aya and Wassim know too much about each other with the help from Kholod.
I think they have the strongest relation among the other couple and if they don't marry now, that is fine at least they found each other and they will marry if not this year the year after.
Kholod said she will do whatever her son wants, and they are their to help him, Wassim the only guy who has his own flat waiting for him if he decide to marry now.
All the above approve that kholod and wassim are not after prize but to find good wife for him and try different way in doing so.

Please tell us how you have so much inside information about this show? Do you work for LBC? Do you have substantiated proof that Avril's sons are sending these messages? If you have proof, please share with us otherwise all you're doing is spreading false rumors. One could just as easily say that Kholood's family is sending her all the nice messages she received this week.
It's safe to say that both women have their share of supporters as well as people who don't like them and just leave it at that. It's impossible for the entire Arab world to love the same mom. No need to start coming up with conspiracy theories as much as our culture loves them. Ciao

You know that kholod and others can't talk or meet with their family without LBC attendance or camera with them, because they are not allowed to exchange information about the show or participants.
Avril said and we all heard her saying, that her sons told her. So can you explain to me how her sons manage to give her this information. There is two ways either while they are on phone with her or by sending her sms under different name they both agreed on before. On phone as we said LBC will be watching so it can't be, unless, LBC is treating her differently.
Also sara, I sent many sms, also my friends, to kholod and her son, non has been delivered. Why?
During the chatting hour, we spend 1 hour just listening to messages how patty pretty, patty give bassel kiss, and when there is message to others, few is how nice they are, but most of it why you are doing this to patty or basil, patty be carefull from poussy, line or fatema, or why are you talking about patty (as if patty doest talk at all, we all heard her who she keep talking about the girls and complaining to basil and gabi, like little girl), and poor girls spend their time defending themselves, and patty laughing at them or give them that bad look.
By the way I don’t work with LBC, as you can tell I am all the way with kholod which against LBC wishes (it is clear to all of us)
And I know you don’t work with LBC because you do answer me back, I sent many message to them asking them why my messages not delivered, I even try to call station, guess what, I didn’t receive even small note from them.
When avril got mad and left the group, they were all in chocked of her reaction. She took it too personal, gabi was in great chock,
and there when gabi and kholod start to say, why she is mad, and then said to patty if in one issue she refuse to discuss and give her final word. How you will solve other problems in your life, and that you should talk to her and open all subject.
Now what is wrong with what kholod said, it is clear and straight forward. Why avril fan make a big issue out of it and send many messages to avril saying be careful from kholod.
If patty really believe that kholod was after her all time to make her leave bassil, she would have said so, but no, it was the only time they discuss a topic together. They hardly speak to each other, so how come that kholod is always telling patty to stay away from bassil or avril.
I think the people who sent messages to avril behind all the problem between kholod and avril otherwise they will be fine together.

You're right sana_k, LBC is giving Avril and her son a special treatment which reminds me of Star Academy especially when they chose those annoying spoiled brats like Maya, Tina and Carlo whom I all hate to death and the same applies to Avril and her family. How come Bassel out of all the 5 guys was allowed to apologize to Patty inside the women's house? People have been saying that her daughter is the girl whose nickname is Bint AlJazira using that fake Saudi accent when typing messages.
Did you see the last few days. all the time camera on patty and bassil, and what are they doing, nothing, she is teaching him french. That is so boaring.
when they have the camera on the other group, which usualy few mintues, we have great fun, they do jokes, play, talk serious. i dont move when they are on screen.
And yesterday, when the group wanted to go out, patty give that face and said ya allah, lets go inside. so the group decided to stay inside. and we stuck with the silly conversation between patty and bassil, even many mesages apears on tv asking the control to change the camera view, but no one listen. if LBC think we will love them, i am saying they are making us board more and more of them and childish attitude. and hear patty unpleast fake laugh.
