No Ban on Alcohol

Well here’s a first the government in Oman has seen it fit to allow the consumption of alcohol during the month of Ramadan! Of course there were further conditions, the consumption is limited to certain hotels and is allowed after sunset and this rule applies only to in-house guests. As expected owners of hotels that were chosen to be allowed to serve ‘hard beverages’ in this holy month are thrilled and predict an increase in ‘beverage revenue’ and ‘room revenues’.

However, these hotel mangers have also recognized that is now up to them to ensure the rule, along with its limitations, are respected in order to ‘prove that it was a wise decision and one which will only lead to positive results,’ according to Christopher Pike, general manager of the Radisson SAS Hotel. Furthermore, the main aim of the government in taking this decision seems to be to help tourism be boosted in the area. I have to say I expect quite sharp responses from some over this decision but seeing as which the government of Oman have put some strict limitations on it I’m expecting it to be a success in increasing tourist business in the area.

WHAT? IT IS SO VERY WERID NOT BECAUSE IT IS A STRICT GOVT BUT BECAUSE THE USE OF ALCOHOL IS SAID IN THE HOLY QURAN THAT IS HARAM so how can they allow it???? The world is coming to an end....And what i say that its an islamic country not only islamic but it is forbidden in all religion the use of alcohol so the tourists need to know that this is the way the arab govt works.

^ correction.. the way that a muslim country SHOULD work, not how it works.

don't feel too bad. The only reason you feel bad is because they made it public that alcahol can be consumed during the Holy month. But in reality, alcahol can be found and consumed any time, any where... even in Saudi Arabia.

Cheers.. (no pun intended)

A reply to cupcake
i am really sorry but the prophets didn't just follow islam in his house he told everyone and educated them and if we were not educated we would have never been able to follow it in our house. So if people are forgeting the ethics and morals which is dien (not only islam) we should always be there to remind them and educate them.

Amar .. prophet Mohammed practice Islam teachings by himself first then educated people .. etc...

Nowadays, we have only what they call themselves muslims and they are only teach ... at home, they dont practice a thing but may be praying but as far as for what really Islam teachings is about .. they do nothing of them but talk ! our time needs practicing from the inside first then teach people ... unfortantely its just the opposite ... no practice ... lots of talk and ignorance! enough said!

Well, I do agree with you but what influences out kids more? isn't it the media and that is where they get their religion and ethics from so as far as an islamic county doing this and so where did out ethics and morals go? so i am not blaming you but all i just say is tahat we need to guide our kids because this will influence out islamic society and we have to do our best as being the recent generation to guide the upcoming into what is right and what is wrong. yeah for paracticing islam to yourself and then teach others i agree with you 100% but what i disagree with is that you judge people that talk and say the truth as ignorant i admit unfortunately some are but not all are the same.

LOL.
Well if it was true, I don't understand why WALEG wouldn't agree. Secondly why Lebanon and Lebanese readers precisely??!! You are assuming that this website is Lebanese....
I doubt WALEG would go out of their way to "TO SHOW THAT GULF COUNTRIES ARE NOT IMPLENTING THEIR RELIGION OR WE SHOW THAT OMAN IS IS A PISS OF SHIT COUNTRY!" LOL
