People have always contemplated about everything we go through in our lives; Is it written in stone, is it our fate and destiny, or is what we experience a mere reflection of what we do! The idea of destiny and fate have reigned our earth as long as anyone can remember; the Greeks believed in the Goddess ‘Fortuna’ who spun ‘The Wheel of Fortune’ making your luck, but they also believed you had a part in determining that luck.
Whether you have strictly religious views or if you are more into philosophy, will affect your opinion in this arena! If you ask me, I feel that there are things that are written in stone and that we work towards such as who we marry and when we die, but I also believe that things we do affect our destiny. For some people it’s easier not to tackle the issue of destiny because then it drives them mad, the simplest thing will have you questioning everything such as: Is it written somewhere as part of my ‘fate’ to use this door of the car? You may think it’s pathetic, but sit down and think: is what I am doing what I want to do or am I ‘meant’ to do it, is it my fate? Mind boggling really! So do you believe in destiny?

Funny thing is that I ordered two days ago a book called "Freedom and Destiny" by Rollo May. The book came quite recommended.
Isn't there always a soft voice at the book of your head questioning whether the happenings in your life were the result of destiny?
We all like to believe that we are in control of lives and that there is no such as a higher force controlling our every move. Control is power, loss of control in anyway can be harmful to your self esteem and self respect. You have to be a very spiritual person to accept the hand that destiny deals you and let your life flow from there.
In a way I do believe in a certain destiny that was written especially for me. There a few of us who were touched by the lucky hand of destiny and seem to appreciate it. Many of us spend life complaining and wanting more.
If you truly believe in the existence of God, you can't question the existence of destiny. Don't they go together?.
