loggerhead sea turtle

Today is Endangered Species Day ... & we are all aware that there are hundreds of species on the waiting list of being extinct!
We, no matter where we are, have to do something about raising awareness of the threats to our planet’s most fragile species and promoting efforts to help them survive.
For example, beautiful sea animals like the the Beluga whale, the Hawaiian monk seal, the humpback whale, the sawfish, the Loggerhead Sea Turtle, sea otters and the Steller sea lion are just a small number of the ocean species that are considered endangered.

Other endangered animals include the American bison, the Siberian Tiger and the Santa Cruz Long-toed Salamander just to name three!
These animals, as well as the others, have to make the list of IUCN (World Conservation Union) Red List Endangered species to gain legal protection.
Would you believe that the current rate of extinction is 10 to 100 times greater than any of the prior mass extinction events in the history of the Earth? Yup! That's a lot! This means that hundreds of animals may get extinct in the coming few years if we don't do something about it!
This is my simple way of helping ... Lending a hand in increasing the awareness ... Please post a comment here to show your support for our planet's beautiful animals, to show that you do care.
