I for one, cannot live without the privileges of YouTube and eBay and I guess I am not alone, because on Tuesday Steve Chen and Chad Hurley, the co-founders of Youtube, were announced the winners of Webbies ‘People of the year’ award for ‘transforming the media landscape and reshaping everything from politics to pop culture’, which I think is slightly exaggerated. For those of you who don’t know the Webby awards, it's basically the Oscars of the internet and they award internet achievers in nearly 100 categories.

Another interesting category which was added this year was the ‘Film and video’ award which went to Jessica Lee Rose who created the video series ‘Ask a Ninja’ and Lonelygirl15 who starred in a video about an annoying home schooled 16 year old! The ‘Lifetime Achievement award’ went to the creators of eBay for ‘changing how people connect and interact worldwide’! The awards ceremony will commence on June 4th and all winners will be limited to 5 word speeches of thanks upon receiving their awards!!
