5 stars Prisons

I for one haven’t served any jail time but as you can imagine for most it’s an unpleasant time where you are exposed to several aspects that can literally scar you for life but here’s the good news for a sum of money –usually ranging between $75 and $127- you can get 5 star services in your cell. This strange amazing service can be found in several areas of California and is on offer for people with ‘minor charges’ who still have a stash of cash hidden somewhere. Nicole Brockett who has been charged with driving under the influence of alcohol has been placed in one of these jails and pays $85 a day for accommodation in what she describes as a ‘five-star Hilton’ (its important to keep in mind she is referring to a jail)!

It gets better: this ‘pay to stay’ service in California jails allows you to have your Ipods and laptops and in some places you can even be granted a leave of absence to go to your job and then return be searched and merely sleep in prison!! This service has been going on for years and has been so popular there has been no need for the managers to market it, seeing as which they are nearly always fully booked!

I think its horrible how just because someone is rich they can escape justice... although a spokeswoman for a jail that provides this service claims ‘The benefits are that you are isolated and you don’t have to expose yourself to the traditional county system,’ which I understand! SO what do you think, is it fair??

It's fair. You get whatever you want when you pay in today's world. It's just corruption. And this is corruption made legal.
