Believe it or not the Iranian government has decided to be more strict about ‘bad hijab’ and ‘unIslamic clothing’ and so have decided to ban all barbers from giving customers ‘western hair styles’! Basically if you wear a tie, make up, spiked up hair or pluck your eyebrows you are in trouble and barbers who do not abide by this new rule will lose their licenses. We don’t know for sure if this ban is for Iran in its entirety or only Tehran but both ways I think it’s mad! There is no religious commandment that requires the regulation of what people wear or how they style their hair.
What’s worse is that they have stepped up this new policy with ‘Fashion Police’ who are mobile police officers patrolling the streets searching for any violators and warning them! For now the people who do wear makeup or small T Shirts are only being notified but who knows what the next step will be in order to deter the Iranian people from being ‘Western’ in their appearance!

Uzma thank you for giving us an inside perspective into this issue unfrotunatley as bloggers we cant fly to Iran and check it out but we merely take all the information we can and we tell it to u like it is! Also it is unclear where some restrictions are being made... we done knw if its nationwide or just in a certain area so maybe ur lucky enough to live sumwhere where the restriction isnt too bad!
