Yesterday the contestants of American Idol 6 were performing in the presence of the legendary Tony Bennett.
Bennett was a breath of fresh air ... & his songs gave a certain atmosphere to the show that made it special.
It was interesting watching -& listening- to the contestants sing songs from their grandparents' time.
Chris Richardson sang “Don't Get Around Much Anymore”, & got positive comments from all 3 judges!
Jordin Sparksdid “On a Clear Day”, her performance was really good, but Simon said it wasn't hip, it was old fashioned!
LaKisha Jones did “Stormy Weather”, she got a compliment from Simon! He said her performance was sassy & great!

As for the ones to get a bit of negative comments, they were Melinda, Blake, Gina & Haley.
As for Phil's performance of “Night and Day”, it seems he was emotionally disconnected from the song ... & Simon told him that his performance was gloomy & dark with no life.
Last but not least, Sanjaya Malakar ... He chose to sing "Cheek to Cheek".
Randy said he can't comment on the vocals & he just considers him to be an 'entertainer' at this point. Paula said he is charming ... -he made the brave decision of dancing with Paula during his performance-, so she also said that she wasn't sure if this was ‘Dancing with the Stars’ or American Idol!
Simon said it was 'incredible' ... You know, sarcastically!
What will happen tonight at the elimination show? ... Will the right person be voted off?
