The top 11 put on a really great show last Tuesday on American Idol. Maybe it was the visit and advice given by Peter Noone and Lulu that brought it on. During the visit they gave the aspirants a good grip and feel of the music that went popular during the 60’s. Maybe it was that which inspired the 11. But the highlight of the night was the fan named Ashley. Think she was so touched by Sanjaya’s performance? Well no one can tell the deepest emotions we hold.
All in all the guys gave a pretty good performance. All of them were able to sing well and they sparkled up the stage. Haley Scarnato sang “Tell Him” which was accompanied by a little bit of dancing. Chris Richardson’s chosen ballad “Don't Let the Sun Catch You Crying” suited him as well. Stephanie Edwards’ performance on the other hand did not find much favor with the judges, especially with Simon as he said she’s lost her edge. The performances by the other hopefuls were the following: Blake Lewis sang “Time of the Seasons”, Lakisha Jones performed singing “ Diamonds Are Forever”, Phil Stacey “Tobacco Road”, Jordin Sparks I ( Who Have Nothing), Sanjaya Malakar “ You Really Got Me Now”, Gina Glocksen with “Paint It Black”, Chris Sligh “She’s Not There” and finally Melinda Doolittle “As Long As He Needs Me”.
Well the die is cast and the predictions? Those who are on safe ground are Melinda, Lakisha, Jordin, Blake and Chris Richardson. The Sanjaya, Gina, Phil and Stephanie are on shaky ground.
