Things heated up real bad after the episodes Dr. Hala Sarhan did about prostitutes in Egypt on her popular show on Rotana 'Hala Show'. Sarhan even disappeared from the media scene for a while after that & is still absent.
Rumors even started popping up, the latest is that Sarhan has been fired from her position as cinema production manager in Rotana!
But the truth is, Sarhan has been away for a couple of months now due to undergoing surgery, which is not plastic surgery as it has been rumored. She is scheduled to return to Cairo soon, but it's still not known exactly when. She will also be holding a press conference after her return to clarify all the rumors & reports about her disappearance.
I think this whole furore over the episode is just plain ridiculous. Whether those cheap women suing for money, for claiming to be paid in order to appear on the show!!! or others protesting her apparent blackening of Egyptian women's names. Since prostitution is one of the oldest profession in the world, and will continue to be one of the everlasting ones, whether in Egypt or anywhere else.
I think her eyebrows are ridiculously high without any further plastic surgery :P.
Good on her for highlighting such an important issue and do hope she comes back to do her job, because I believe that she is doing it brilliantly. I do hate the relentless attacks, her and other successful Egyptian women seem to endure.
It is too simplistic a view I expound but hell leave the woman alone.
