Iraqi singer Kathem Al-Saher was present at the most important night in Hollywood last week ... He was on the red carpet at the 2007 Oscars.
Al-Saher was invited to the Oscars because he participated in the Musical Score of the movie 'My Country My Country', which was nominated for an Oscar in the category of Documentary Feature.
The popular program 'Scoop' met with Al-Saher in Los Angeles & they got the scoop out of him about this event!
The Movie 'My Country My Country' is directed by Laura Poitras, who spent about a year in Iraq & documented the daily life of an Iraqi doctor in Al-Aathamiah district. The movie is a journey into the heart of war-ravaged Iraq in the months leading up to the January 2005 elections.

I love it when I read articles like this; ones that show the success of an Arab despite all the circumstances and challenges they face. That is not just with their own little issues but also the bigger ones like war.
To make it international and show the whole entire world that Iraqies aren't all about blood and war, like you get from the daily impressions from the News here in Europe, is such a great thing. Everytime, I watch the news and hear the word "Iraq", it really saddens me because I know that it will be linked to something negative and horrible.
But, this news, is what I definitely want to hear more of. This was a nice change, it put a smile on my face.
Obviously, a golden achievement is only achieved by a true golden star.
