First of all, I know carlo has a very nice voice and is talented.. But Common he has the worst personality in the academy.. Hes such a show off.. he thinks hes better than everone else and at a higher stage.. unfortunitaly.. hes not..!!
I didn't see what happpened.. But i can imagine what happened with carlo being as if hes the mature guy.. the problem hes not..!! hehe..

Well, I gs shatha is the best...it's just that she is very sensitive when it comes to criticizing...But carlo has more probs..like he needs to interfere with his own probs first before doing it with others..he really needs to be aware with what ppl are saying about him...and his voice is good btw...but he doesn't show himself much in the academy..anywayz...to conclude, fights occur between students..and thatz very natural...nothing more to add...thx

I agree with you guys...Shatha had no right to yell at Carlo like that. I mean I like both of them and Shatha's voice is amazing which is why it is such a shame that she blew up at him and made it into such a big deal. I mean first of all she was in the wrong with the control b/c the bell did ring and they showed us to make her look stupid lol...and mohammed and carlo were only kidding with her bc they know it rang and that ali had his min taken away too so it wasnt gonna work and they were just messing with her but she is the one that went CrAzY on Carlo and its wrong. I mean if you're upset about something there is no reason to take it out on anybody else. And she acts like its ok, that she's the victim after she screamed at him for an hour and had to hold herself back once or twice bc she was about to curse him out!! her words hurt very much and she talks like she's in the streets which is rude. I mean she's the oldest and she wants to force everybody to respect her?? No someone needs to let her know that she needs to WIN OVER their respect bc right now theyre all scared of her bc she is like a ticking time bomb. I mean she fought about a minute on the phone, a piece of cake, and about the cat and bathing it...i mean seriously how old is she like 12??? She needs to grow up and start acting her damn age b/c she is not the victim like she ALWAYS claims she is. Even if she got upset at Carlo there was def a different and better way she could have handled it.

But enough of that, I still think she has a great voice but wont win bc of her lil performance with carlo the other day. Ireally didn't like the way Shada behaved.She has to control herself since she's in the starac preparing for an artistic career.Iwonder if dit happens and becomes an artist ,how will she behave with journalists;fans and rumors....She has to know that the career of an artist needs too much care and politeness.I think Shada in behaving in such way with Carlo;she has burnt a precius card ;which is the love of people.Vote Imad and Amal pleaz.

i watched that and i think Carlo shouldve minded his own bussiness, it's a stressful environment, lots of pressure i would imagine that minute means a lot to them especially for Shaza with her nose and everything so let the girl vent euf!!! if he didnt like her complainning either leave the room( the academy is big) or dont say anything like the rest of them anyway have a good day and enjoy the prime take care

I do not blame Shatha for her "rude" actions. I can't imagine how hard and difficult it must be for her to live with 19 year old. There is a huge age gap. It's difficult to interact with younger people especially when they are in their teen years. They tend to be more immature, impuslive, and sponatneous. The way they perceive things is very juvenile. She is an adult, while they are teenagers. They're still in their college years, while she is in the real world. She simply has more experience and a wider perspective on certain things in life. I can understand where she's coming from. I also like how she acts naturally not guarding every move she makes. She's very genuine, and I think her strong personality might be intimidating to some of the members of the Academy. It's difficult for a young boy like Carlo to deal with an assertive, strong female like Shatha. He seems to be used to weak women given that his "girlfriend" lets him verbally abuse her. In addition, I watched the episode featuring the fight between Shaza and CArlo. I have to say that he seriously provoked her. She told him not to interfere or she would cry. He kept on interfering. I mean it's her business. In addition, he told her taht he will make her cry for sure. He told her to shut up, and that's when she replied back with a shut up as well. He kept on making facial gestures and putting his fingers in his ears. Then, she told him that he " Qaleel al-adab", and I do agree with her. He is very ill-mannered. Who does that? Who keeps on putting his hands in his ears and making gestures? I mean his intentions were clearly to provoke her further and further. Then, his apology was very poor. He said that he apologizes, but He will not say Bonjour to her every morning. I was like what kind of an apology is this? Dude, the girls is like almost 8 years older than him. I mean come on!
Did she loose her temper? yes, she did, but who doesn't. I'm sure Carlo does more than that behind cameras. At least, she doesn't perform in front of the cameras. Is this going to hurt her in the future? I don't think so. There are many singers who have tempers, and they are superstars. She has the talent and the voice, and she will make it far in this bussiness. Also, I believe that she should have entered Superstar instead of this show. It's a more befitting competition for her.

As for the other contestants, they all have their strenghts and weaknesses. I defnitely do not believe that Tina is talented. Her english singing is extremely mediocre. I mean if she entered American Idol, she would have been cut from the first round. I think she's definitely not a star. Whether she's fake or not, I cannot judge her. I can only say that she's definitely not a good singer.
One thing that annoys me about her is taht she constantly speaks in English. I mean I'm born and raised in the States, and I speak arabic fluently. When I am amongst arabs, I speak in Arabic and I don't throw in English words. I don't know how it is in the Middle East. Do people in Lebanon always speakin in English? Can someone explain this phenomenon to me?

what you said is absolutely spot on! especially about shatha, i mean,everybody is attacking her and she didnt do anything wrong! and tina, well she has to enter in english competitions if she wants to sing and talk in english, i mean, its as if she doesnt know any arabic!!! she annoys me so much!!! especially because she has no voice and everyone is keeping her in!

It was obvious that Shaza was a little annoyed and upset that she was losing the minutes.

I have to admit, at first I though it was Shaza who crossed the line. But then I though to myself, if I was really upset or annoyed about something and someone who happens to be in the same room is just making things worse.

Carlo wasn’t trying to be there for her, he was simply being against her. He just kept talking about why it was right to take off the minutes, and didn’t even try to understand her, or even how she felt.

I can see what he was trying to do though; trying to make her understand why it happened. But, this whole heated scenario could have been avoided if he was careful of how he said things.

If he simply tried to make her relax and cheer her up, and then tell her the possibility of why it had happened. Then all this drama could have been avoided.

But sometimes, Shaza does become a little sensitive about certain issues and hit’s the roof really easily at times. At times, I feel she just needs to chill a little. Her personality can be a little off-putting.
However, I still think she is the best singer in the Academy.

Shatha was very rude with Carlo. I didn't like her way of talking. She doesn't have the right to create a problem and make it a big deal from nothing. Go Carlo I love u as u are. Keep ur self and never change!

I think Shaza has a beautiful voice. She can be nice at times, but she needs to control her temper and attitude. Carlo was right, she claims she didn't hear the bell for class when it rang 3 times they even showed it in the daily show. Carlo is great, he's such a nice guy, at first he was kind of rude but now I think he has a nice personality he's funny. He also has a nice voice but it's better in french then it is in arabic.

I guess I opened that can of worms (under a different thread though) when I needed to vent about it, so I guess now that it's become a thread of its own, I'll add my two cents.

I'd like to preface this by saying that I love Shaza's voice. The quality of her voice is amazing and ever since the start of the season she's had me totally riveted. I can't say the same about her attitude though.

I can't see how Shaza's age justifies her behavior in any way. When she applied and auditioned for StarAc she must have known that other applicants were between the ages of 16 and 25, so she was running the risk of sharing the same living quarters and competing against people who were almost a decade younger than her. And why hasn't Ali who is also in his mid-20's lost it over his juvenile roommates since they've started the season. The guy regards the other candidates as his equals or even superiors in certain cases....in talent, musical knowledge, acting ability, etc. Age isn't a factor at a place like this. I don't know if you watch StarAc France. Last year, there was a 38 year old man (married with kids) and a 17 year old girl who had not yet shed her baby fat. Seventeen year old Magalie won the title! She was respected by all her peers for her magnificent voice and singing ability and was never regarded as inferior or given a verbal lashing because of her young age.

What happened in that interview/phone room is totally inexcusable, especially since Carlo and Mohamed's comment was of no consequence at all. It didn't make any difference to the outcome whatsoever. Shaza had lost her minute for going to her sports class late. When she started swearing that the bell didn't ring that morning, the folks at LBC cut to the footage of that morning which showed us that the bell that didn't ring actually had gone off three times. Didn't make her look very good after swearing (b-Allah-u-al-azim) to Sally that the bell never rang.

Ok, back to the problem. Shaza went into the phone room to try and talk the administration into giving her minute back. They said no. She insisted that the bell never went off...they told her it did...she kept arguing so Carlo and Mohamed told her she wasn't the only one who had her minute revoked. Ali and Marwa did too. Unlike Shaza, neither pulled a hissy fit. They took it like good sports and went to class on time the following day. If she was in the right and Carlo and Mohamed got in the way of her getting her minute back, it would have been ok for her to reprimand them for not minding their own business...but not to go off like a loose canon. It was too trivial an issue to blow a gasket over. Calling Carlo impolite and to threaten to show him was way over the top...and what, pray tell, will she show him? She did the same with Sally when she blew a fuse at her and was physically lunging at her as if intending to slap her while the guys got in the way to break them up before Sally got clobbered. Sally just stood there and told her that she wasn't going to say anything out of respect for their age difference while Shaza went on ranting and raving about showing her. I'd love to see what she has to show them other than that fine display of fish wife manners.

I said this before and I'm saying this again...what will happen later on when Shaza gets out in the world where she will deal with disasters and setbacks every single day. If in a controlled environment like the academy she pulls a Naomi Campbell on the other kids....what will happen when she goes out and unleashes her wrath on the music world? I work in production and I know people who are far more talented and established as artists who can't get a production team together to save their lives because of their history of aggressive behavior. If she starts off that way, she will have one very short career to look forward to and may be wise to hang on to her tourism day job.

That's my take. I know many of you won't agree, but you've got to look at the bigger picture here. Until very recently, I thought she was amazing. I still believe her voice is one of the best at the academy, but I can't help being turned off and disgusted by what I saw the other day.

i think it is both their fault, shada shouldn't make a big deal out of it, it's just one minute and carlo shouldn't but in, i heard that he kept on saying shut up to her,i don't think that's the way to go. but i understand i would have done the same thing, even though i think shut up is not really a bad word. maybe bcuz i always say it, not in a mean way!! hehe. but my mom told me that shada also fighted with sally and that she tries to act like since she is the oldest, she can insult anyone she wants to. well, i hope everything is ok?? is carlo and shada talking to eachother cuz my mom told me that carlo went up to her and said that he is not talking to her!

Don't you think Shatha was still in deep sleep & that is was she didn't hear the bell (as many other students in different occasions????!!!!!
- Shatha kept telling the guys that she is really upset & asked them not to interfer . . but Carlo kept (bugging)her . . . obviously was in purpose of annoying her (not explaininy or joking with her) . . . After all she is really a big threat for all of them & I hope that will be a decent competion & not (decieving) one!!!
- Just be fair . . . I didn't like it either . . . but it was so obvious where that behaviour was leading to!!!
- Just let us enjoy the (show) . . and hope that all students enjoy too :)
