A 22 year old Egyptian blogger named Abdel Karim Nabil has been imprisoned by the Egyptian authorities for a period of four years recently after being found guilty of insulting the Islamic religion and the Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak.
This is the very first time such a trial is introduced to the courts of law in Egypt and it only lasted for five minutes!
Abdel Karim used his blog to criticize Al-Azhar University, calling it a
'terrorist university' and called Mubarak a 'dictator'. It is worth mentioning that Abdel Karim was an Azhar student and was kicked out from the university in 2006!
The human rights organization described the judgment on Abdel Karim as 'too harsh' ... This could be a wake up call to other bloggers whose numbers exceed the thousands!
Well, if authorities reached Abdel Karim and sentenced him to jail for insulting Islam, how come they haven't reached or even stopped those new satellite channels 'Kunouz & Shahrazad' which claim that they solve people's problems through magic, 'hujub' & other mumbo jumbo in the name of Islam!?! -When was it good advice to read Quran without saying 'Bism Allah Al Rahman Al Rahim'?- ... It is astonishing how educated people believe those hypocrites! These channels are giving Islam a bad name ... What you see on those channels has nothing to do with the logic of Islam & the basics of Faith.
This is so confusing ... Is it the writers who need a wake up call or is it the authorities?!

and about the guy who got jailed he deserves it but not for that long because he has no right to insult islaam hes a muslim his self

its funny how people in the middle east claims that they have democracy when they only can use it inside thier homes , talking about politics with thier family member while they are having thier hot cup of tea and playing with thier toes !! but once they get out side the home they never mention the "dectator" or the religious problems and nonesense that they even not buying !!!

Freedom of speech is not about insulting someone or not , its bout talking whatever u want as long as ur not forcing anyone to view it , and that guy never forced anyone to view wat he is saying , he simply published his work online for THOSE WHO WANTS TO SEE IT !!!
