Recently,the famous Rotana Tv presenter Dr.Hala Sarhan has been accused of fabricating her show in which she interviewed (face-censored) girls who are prostitutes-or what she claims them to be- that discussed various issues about how they get along with such an act.
This topic has been such an attraction to the media in Egypt and the Arab world since the girls who were interviewed proclaim that Dr.Hala is a fraud and paid them to say such statements on Tv just to increase the awareness to those who have been driven into the world of prostitution.
However, three girls out of five who were interviewed in 'Hala Show' are now charging Hala Sarhan with a compensation of a surprising 100 million egyptian pounds-30 million for themselves and 70 million to be donated to the HIV positive in Egypt!
Dr.Hala is now in Dubai and stood up for herself in her first appearance after this scandal in the program 'Al kahera Al youm' mocking the girls on their 100 million and in tears she talked about her successful 25 years in media and entertainment and questioned why would these girls break their silence and wait for 6 months to announce that everything was Fake?! She also announced that she would continue her show.

I believe Dr. Hala. Why jeapordize a 25 year long career for ratings? These girls were not forced to tell their stories...maybe they're ashamed of their lives being broadcast and now accuse Dr. Hala of telling them to make up these stories. The only way they can walk in the streets bi ras-hum marfu3a is if they act like they were forced to make up these stories. I haven't seen that episode of Hala Show but I'm sure she didn't exploit them in anyway but instead just tried to get people thinking about this reality in the Egyptian (and Arab) streets.
I agree with you rara,Hala's reputation is much more bigger than street girls to make her feel very down,the girls are liars and what prostitutes do is run for money and thats exactly what they r doing now with her..100 million!! FOR GODS SAKE r they out of their mind?? i saw the show and i pity her ..hope the truth comes out soon..
i think dr halla deserves what happeneds and thats why she ran away to lebanon ,and even if what she said was truth and she didnt force anybody why did she got egyption girls at saudi television what was going to happened if she got saudi girls .
dR Hala = the arab's OPRAH and she speaks out our mind.i totally agree with her and disagree with you ahmed othman because of two reasons..FIRST is that rotana tv broadcats from Egypt and not from ksa and it is considered an egyptian channel funded by a saudi so dont insult the saudis!!and i dont think that there will be women roaming around in streets in ksa since its forbidden SECOND dR Hala doesnt deserve what happened..she devoted her work for us arabs and was somehow the reason of many changes...i have a daughter and i insist that she watches her programs since they r an eye opener..God bless you dr hala and justice wil be served soon..Good day all of you

Waleg - where did you get the 100 million pound figure? Did you get it from somewhere in the actual Arabic news? I spent a frustrating afternoon on Friday trying to figure out if it was 100 million pounds or 100 million dollars (of the two English-language news stories, the one from Gulf News says dollars, and the one from the deutsche presse agentur says pounds, and neither one exactly impresses me as 100% reliable).
Personally, I'm thinking that Sarhan was set up, but who knows.

Hay everybody i didnt mean to talk about saudis i just wanted to show the anger of many egyptions after Dr. Halla ruined the egyption girls reputition on a sauian chanel,and i am really sorry for this missunderstanding ,with my all respect to all saudis.

Now going back to the actual toipc, pathetic actually!! It would have been more believable if they donated the whole amount to charity. If it is true and she paid them, they are prostitues because they did sell themselves for money...

Anyone that tackles real issues is usually attacked by the double standards it is so obvious. Anyone that says they are prostitutes in public with no shame, that is what they are. Hala Sarhan is loved by many and I wish I could reach her to give her my support frankly!
