Shams, like Nawal El Kuwaitia and Ahmed Daoud of Star Academy 4, is a Kuwaiti singer of Persian origin. Shams was previously barely known outside the Arabian Gulf, that is until commercials with a dancing George W. Bush and the folkloric Raya and Sakina started airing on Melody TV. It was an eye-opener of a commercial!
Shams Makes A Statement
The last I had heard of Shams, before this commercial, was when Rotana terminated her contract, so I was a bit worried about her future. However, being the strong woman she is, she has re-emerged with an amazing new single, Ahlan Izayak? It has been a huge hit for Shams, obviously the video has really helped in launching this single. With hot topics like the Iraq war, the Bush administration, and plastic surgery mixed in with satirical humor. Shams boxes with Condoleezza Rice, “beautifies” a girl with her magic wand, and chases soldiers with a slipper! The video is definitely a winner, but also Shams’ song has a very catchy tune and very easy-to-memorize words! its true, some arabs are originally of persian decent. for instance a large percentage of iraqis, are originally persian, im one myself, although im only half iraqi (the other half english). so its not a surprise if ahmad has some non-khaleeji blood in him, since its quite common.

I was born in saudi arabia and i lived more than 15 years there . First , i thought that the most beautiful girls in z middle east are in lebanon & egypt. Yet, after this guys the khalijee women are z most beautiful maybe sometimes most of them are overeight but it suits them i mean they look nicer . The khalijee men they'rnt all beautiful but they still have this arabian look whom everybody loves. LEB CHRIS in lebanon only gurlz are beautiful men only 40% or something are beautiful .

lebchris, just like the Lebanese can be of Syrian, Palestinian, Greek, and Armenian origin, Khalijis are too. Shorouq is originally African, not Arab, most Khaliji girls do not look like her. I, like many, many Khalijis Sunni and Shiite am a Khaliji of Persian origin. Khalijis can be Arabian, Iraqi, Turkish, Iranian, Syrian, Palestinian, so it is really unlikely you even have an idea what Khalijis look like.
