Monday night was overwhelming for 20-year-old Lauren Nelson from Oklahoma.
The aspiring Broadway star was crowned Miss America during the annual beauty contest.
Nelson wishes to continue her theatrical studies & go on with an acting career.
Nelson started acting at a very early age & even had roles in famous Broadway plays like Bye Bye Birdie & Anything Goes.
This is the second year in a row, that a Miss Oklahoma takes away the title.
The two runner-ups were from the states of Texas & Georgia.
