Rumors say that the reason behind the delay of the launching of Star Academy Maghreb that was supposed to start in last Ramadan is the conflict between both; the Lebanese and the Maghreb versions. The producers of the Maghreb version denied that and said that the only reason behind the delay is the casting because they were very accurate in choosing the 14 contestants that will participate in the show.
They already chose the 14 contestants but they were not very convinced of them as they wanted students who have the ability to sing well and properly.
The new real TV will start in February. The house where they will stay in for 4 month is almost ready and there will be more than 150 people working in the project.
Star Academy Maghreb season 1 will target Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and Libya in addition to North African immigrants in Europe. About the dialect that will be used in the show, they said that they will leave it to the contestants.

Star Ac Maghreb will never bet better then Star ac LBC.
LBC is much better + it is not right Lebanon invits all arab boys and girls from different countries(exept for rhis year,no Syria,Algeria, Libya,UAE,YEmen..), the Maghreb version do not!!!

Regarding this lovely news I would like to hope the following:
1- I hope the edition of Starac Maghreb would be subtitled since their dialect is totally unintelligible. They sound pathethic anyway as they try to talk egyptian or Lebanese on Starac LBC.
2- I hope each of the country groupings in what is known as the Arab world does its own edition that is appropriate to its culture instead of lashing out at the "immorality" and flesh-showing of the Lebanese. Egypt and Sudan, The Maghre, the Khaleej and what is known as the greater Syria (syria palestine iraq and jordan) could do their own. That would leave us with an all-lebanese talent show that we can enjoy without hearing comments from arab bigots.
Ironically the Lebanese edition would be the most successful, and everyone will watch it.
3- I wish the Maghrebine contestants the best of luck after using and abusing them on the Lebanese edition. At least we would be able to listen to native maghreb music instead of them trying hard to sing folkloric lebanese songs.

I think there should be one Star Academy that should be open to all of the Arabs. LBC claims to do so, but it never has it's diversity of music when you watch the live shows every Friday. I kind of fail to understand why there is another Star Academy, it's not going to solve the issue I mentioned earlier. What's next, Star Academy Khaleej?
Despite the criticism it has (and still is facing) I'm sure it's going to do well. It will be interesting to see how different the traditions and cultures are between the two Acadameies i.e. between regions.

i think they decide to do a star academy maghreb because in the ather academy its always lebanese ,egyption ,andkhaliji and we dont hear a moroccan or algerian or lybian song like just one or 2 son tunisian and this is anfair for the magreb so that wahy yhe decide to do a star academy magreb

If Europe there are several versions of Star Academy ... so why can't you accept having several star academy editions in the Arab World!!!!!!??????
I hope they will be Star Academy Egypt, Star Academy Tunisia, Star Academy Gulf (though there is already a music competition that is exclusive for gulf countries ...) but then why not ... that would be give a chance for more people to show their talent .. etc
One last thing to lebchris, you are such an ignorant person ... you should show some appreciation to the students that are talking in different dialect than their own native one! do you speak Arabic when you are in England of France or India !!! you just try to speak the language of that country of their second language if they understand ... I think it's a good idea, all regions should have their own show so that people can vote fairly based on talent and not purely on where they come from.
What is this instead of being united you guys lash at each other and show no respect to each other. Lebanon instead of making the whole population sing fight back your country had been destroyed. All you guys are good at is singing and entertain the arab people. No wonder the west is doing so much better and even indian cinema they are more famous then arab cinema and also their music. Indians are created fans while ya arabs are lashing at each other in who is the best.
