The most popular music channel in the whole world decided to enter the Arab world with an Arabic version of MTV in 2007. MTV will launch its new channel as an international channel broadcasting Arabic entertainment shows. Since more than half of the Arabic population is under 25 years old, MTV is intending to target this age by presenting a variety of programs and shows, carefully chosen for this age. It will be a 24 hours open channel...
The programs’ plan include video clips, music shows, a variety of entertainment shows, reality TV, Sit Coms, drama series, news, interviews and documentary programs. MTV will present also some shows that are specially made to discuss the issues that matter the Arab youth beside its traditional successful shows. It is decided that Arabic MTV will be launched in the second half of 2007 and more details will be announced in the next few months.

That's really cool. I hope it works out. MTV just launched MTV Tr3s for a spanish language audience in south and central america.
Hmm, No one is going to watch that tho. There something that obviously no one ever thought about. MTV is run by a Jew. Im not prejudice or nutin to them but, alot of people out THERE r. So, good luck with that.
wooooow i cnt wait for it to come out .. its gd enuf that they have mtv but even betr if they have a arabic mtv !! i alwaiiiiis hoped they will launch somethin like that in the arab world ,, cnt wait !!
Wooow an Arabic MTV!. I share Adam's opinion about the Jew. Common we Arab have enough music channels , like Rotana, M-Live, .... and others. Personally I don'th the Arab world should exept an MTV. The other MTV are so stupid (sometimes vulgar). So I do not think we should make an arabic version. In which arab country is MTV going to be setteled?? LeBanon, Egypt, Tunis????
I like Mtv so much.
I doubt it's success. To me, there are many reasons:
1.) Becasue of the "reputation" of MTV, I doubt that Arabic parents will let their teens watch (you guys know how that goes)
2.) There are so many Arabic music channels already, it seems kinda silly when you think about it.
3.) Adam made a good point, it is run by Jewish people. They say that they will discuss issues that matter to Arab youth. Me, i'm always concerned with the conflicts in the Middle East; alot of youth are. We have family back home, you know? So how honest do you think these discussions will be?
for goodness sake we dont need another channel talking about stupid topics, claiming they r 'teen topics'. personally i find that degrading. we all think higher thoughts than those about celebrities and makeup and watever. arab youth need a channel that will allow us to discuss the issues we care about and help us develop mentally.
why the hell do we have to copy the americans??dont we already have a million music channels already?..or it's just because it's american??..PATHETIC!
i am pretty sure there will be a huge success to this channel in arabic world a lot of us arabs have to subscribe to special packages to watch MTV shows so having an open MTV channel is what they all dream about.
