Gerald Ford, who was President of the United States from 1974-1976, died today at the age of 93. He only stayed 2 years in office but ironically, he lived longer than any other president in US history.
"My family joins me in sharing the difficult news that Gerald Ford, our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather has passed away at 93 years of age," said his widow Betty Ford.
Ford was the only president to not to be elected. He succeeded Richard Nixon after the Watergate scandal and pardoned him for all crimes a month later. On August 9th, 1974, Ford gave his first address to the country as President, stating his famous comment "the long national nightmare is over. Our Constitution works."
look, seriously, does anyone here care about a stupid president who ruled ages ago and most probably killed in the name of 'national security' and all that crap?.....no.tell me when George Bush dies..thatll get me excited.
Aussigal is 100% right.
When bush dies everybody in the arab world will be glad that the devil of the USA will be death.
Guys, don't wish for Bush'd death. Number one, it's haram to wish for ANYONE'S death, (but I totally understand ;),
Number two, that means that Cheney would be president...No thankyou. In America we nicknamed him the "prince of darkness", if you think no one is worse than Bush...think again.
Ford was said to be one of the last "honest politians ( compared to other politans, atleast).
Allah yir7amo.
