Penelope Cruz in Volver

But Hollywood had an ambassador too, the beautiful Penelope Cruz, who had the lead role in the Spanish movie "Volver" or “Return”, won in the best actress category.
Penélope Cruz's reunion with the Spanish director Pedro Almodovar has been praised as a wonderful return to form. There is now much talk and hints even towards a well-deserved Oscar nomination for her.

The same movie won the Best Director category. Almodovar did an excellent job in directing this thriller about a woman who returns from the dead to reveal a scandalous family secret.

The European Film Awards are considered as one of the most prestigious in Europe. This year hosts Poland put on a good show for everyone.
