December 1st is known around the world as World AIDS day, a time where people around the world wear a red ribbon to show their support to eradicating the vicious disease that has killed so many around the world.
We all know about how terrible AIDS is, but recent studies have shown eye-popping numbers that will give you a new perspective on the deadly disease.
Did you know that two young people become infected with HIV every "hour" in the U.S and that AIDS kills one child every minute!!!
All in all, AIDS has killed 25 million people around the world so far. Last year alone, it killed over half a million children!
We still have a big problem here in the Arab World concerning AIDS. It’s as if the governments and societies want to shut their eyes and cover their ears about it. As if it doesn’t exist. Well it does exist. There are records of 65,000 people infected with AIDS in the Arab World. And those are just the official figures. Are our societies too closed to accept people with AIDS?
